Montecastello - A reconstructed fortified medieval dwelling nestles in private grounds of mature oak and sweet chestnut woodland with panoramic views from the natural plateau of the Apennine Mountains. From this point there is also the peak of the local ski resort. Walk through the medieval arched doorway into the beautiful interior featuring chestnut beams and terracotta tiling and stone fireplace. The large dining room with banqueting table seating ten with ornate woodburning stove and the 'Tuscan' style kitchen at the base of the tower offers every amenities. Adjacent is a quaint breakfast room with credenza accommodating cutlery and tableware. A spacious covered terrace with comfortable seating and bar area overlooks the swimming pool and natural woodland, perfect location for the evening sundowners. The bedrooms en-suite are individually designed all with mountain views. The village of Tavernelle is a 5 minute walk with bar. The Agroturismo award winning is a must for a feast.

Montecastello is ideally located for the mountains and the Mediterranean. Visit the five towns known as Cinque Terre on the Liguria coast or the harbour and city of La Spezia. Sun n Swim at Lerici with sand beaches and small marina. This relaxed coastal resort a favourite of 'Shelly and Bryon' fondly referred to as 'The Gulf of Poets'. hosts cafe's, bar's, ice-cream parlour's and restaurants. Spring time is a profusion of flora and fauna while walking and trekking the forests and hilltops.The Lunigiana wine route winds its way through un-spoilt medieval villages. You can enjoy the many traditional local dishes within the summer months of the many 'festa's' abound with dances each weekend. For ladies who love to shop, they will not be disappointed with the coastal town of Forte dei Marmi Marble pavements escort you to 'The' Italian designer boutiques amongst sultry palm's and chic cafe's. Bedroom one - The Master bedroom with king size antique iron bed, chestnut beams with ceiling fan and patio doors to small terrace with two chairs and table to absorb the views of Montagna Bocco, A comfortable en -suite bathroom with bath, large corner shower, bidet and toilet. The Tower bedroom transports you back in time complete with Florentine Frescoe, a special treat for the romantic's, en-suite shower room. The two further bedrooms en- suite shower rooms with the option of twin or double beds. Portable fans are available if required. All bedroom windows have bug screens for a peaceful nights sleep. In general we are mosquito free yippee. We can supply childs cot with mattress and bed linen, and zedbed.

Winter resort: Montecastello is a warm cosy house to spend that traditional Christmas with wood burning fires and beautiful Christmas decorations. Montecastello is within a 15 minute drive to the nearest ski resort 'Prato Spilla', the peak of which can be viewed from the property's natural plateau. Wthin the Lunigiana region there are approximately four other resorts offering various standards of ski resorts. For the lady's who love to shop, what better than to stroll down the marble streets of Forte dei Marmi. Lucca with ice-skating ring in the PIazza and a wide variety of shops, restaurants and culture. Retail outlet villages with bargains galore. Montagna Verdi the local award winning agroturismo is the perfect setting for News Year Eve. Local dishes, local wine, local people all enjoying the evening with fireworks and music, a night to remember.
