Luxury 5* LarCottage Manor Rectory 16 Century.Beautiful View Heated Pool Air C

I'm an American living and working in France. My husband and I joined my family for a 7 day vacation at Philippe's lovely cottage at the end of May, 2012. When I began my research for possible locations I immediately fell in love with the photos and description I found on-line of this cottage. I had very high expectations and thankfully they were exceeded! Philippe's attention to detail to both the home's upkeep and decor was matched by his attention to providing outstanding customer care to his guests.

Philippe's house is located in a tiny village with it's own 15th century church and chateau just next door. In less than a 3 minute walk you can enjoy a wonderful meal that's served by some of the most hospitable folks around. If you decide to leave the property (some days it was tempting to just sit by the pool or sip a glass of local white wine on the terrace) you'll find numerous places to visit including Medieval villages, ancient chateaux, markets, the Dordogne river....it's all right around the corner from Philippe's place!

I would not hesitate to recommend this rental property. I'm already trying to figure out when we can all return again!

This is the pefect holiday accomodation for anybody looking for a quality property in an "away from it all" location. We had a two week break from the middle of October, a fabulous time to visit this beautiful area as the weather is still comfortably warm whilst the beautiful autumn colours were a delight.

Nadaillac de Rouge is an idillic little hamlet with a collection of pretty houses around a lovely church and magnificent private chateau. There are no shops within walking distance but there is a local hotel/restaurant which was unfortunately closed during our stay. The main town of Souilac is a short drive away and has a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets. Further afield the magnificent town of Sarlat is a must visit, especially on market day, where you buy a fantastic array of regional products including the local specialities of duck and foie gras.

The house was very well presented, and the owner was there to meet us with a wealth of local information and a couple of bottles of local wine!!!! Everything about the house was perfect, and it was obvious the owner takes a great pride in his wonderful holiday home. The beds were extremely comfortable with quality bed linen, the lounge had a TV and satellite system with a good range of English and French television channels, and the shower rooms were well equipped with nice touches like hotel style toiletries. Due to the quality of the kitchen and it's equipment we were more than happy to eat in most nights in front of a roaring log fire.

The property is also a pets paradise. The extensive gardens were perfect for our young golden retriever, and we spent many happy hours walking traffic free lanes and beautiful woodlands viewing the magnificent local scenery. We were not the only ones who didn't want to come home!!!!

We stayed in the presbytere in Autumn and were very lucky with the weather. I imagine it must be absolutely perfect in summer with the swimming pool. It is very quiet (apart from occasional church bells) with no passing traffic to speak of. The house is beautiful and nicely furnished. Though the weather was turning cool we were very comfortable and though we had 5 of us staying in the house it was very quiet and private - with 4 bathrooms meaning everyone had their space. Lovely kitchen and dining areas and very well equipped including espresso machine and quality crockery (Limoges). Everything was perfect and the owner also very helpful and nice to chat to. We shopped in Souillac which has everything, but you could also get bread in St Julien de Lampon. Tried one restaurant which was close by - le Gabarre at St Julien de Lampon which was great. Nadaillac itself also has a restaurant for lunch - le Chastrusse. Would love to come back.
