Sorry, but I
am very negligent about the calendar. If you
would consider staying here as a 'B and B'( but
without the breakfast), the rate would be
considerably lower. We schedule stays between
our use and maintenance projects, so have a lot
of last-minute availability. I use this site
primarily to find a renter for the winter months
(all of them), and failing that, I close up the
place and have it winterized.

The house was built in 1870 and purchased by my
great-grandfather in 1890; it has been in the family
ever since. Originally it was a 2/2/2 with kitchen
and dining room in the basement. My G-G-F added
another 3 rooms over time. We have restored the
basement rooms as living quarters for ourselves and
stay there during short periods when the main part
of the house is rented.
I was born and raised in Cold Spring and lived in the
house from 1985 - 1995. Then I retired and became
a snowbird. The taxes are onerous!!! and renting
the house out for the winter months seemed the
perfect solution. Some years I can't find a winter
renter, so then I close the house up ( drain the pipes
and turn off the heat). The first year I advertized
in VRBO I found a very nice winter renter -- and got
many 'hits' for people looking for short-term stays.
Some years I can do that, and some I can't. Over
