The locality:
Sitting on the edge of a quaint village in the pretty countryside of the Boutonne valley, the Logis is also conveniently near to the local market town of Chef-Boutonne where there are two supermarkets, a charcuterie, boucherie & boulangeries as well as bars, banks and two restaurants.
The surroundings of woodlands & forests are ideal for walking and cycling. The fairytale Chateau Javarzay on the edge of the town has a park and lake just perfect for a picnic or fishing. The Chateau is floodlit at night making a spectacular sight, often the focal point for village events. A regular open market each Saturday in the town square and at the nearby village of Aulnay is an opportunity to buy the best of the local produce. The nearest Boulangerie to buy your fresh bread & croissants in Javarzay is within walking distance. The region offers it all, with clean air & warm sunshine, good food and wine. There is something here for everyone to make it a relaxing and memorable holiday.
About Logis de Lussais:
This charming Logis was originally built as a gentleman's residence and vineyard, then later became a working farm before being sympathetically restored and converted to provide 5 separate dwellings. Approached through grand entrance gates at the end of a private chestnut tree lined avenue, providing ample shaded parking. The main manor farmhouse and separate cottages all overlook the pretty fountain and are around the circular courtyard. The farmhouse and cottages are restored to a high standard retaining many original features, are comfortably furnished and all feature French style bedsteads and wardrobes. The cottages all share a 10 x 5m heated swimming pool. The main farmhouse has the private use of a second 8 x 4m heated pool. Both pools are fenced with gates. These very individual self catering properties offer great flexibility for a perfect holiday location with private personal space and the opportunity to enjoy the social company of other people on holiday
