Photos and Description of the Chicxulub vacation house rental
MARLIN your beachfront house to relax & enjoy
Email us we will help you contact a friend for a house as great as
ours if its not avaliable on your dates!!
Beautiful and comfortable, located 40 minutes from Mérida, 15 from
Progreso and 10 from village of Chicxulub or Telchac and 4 hours
from Cancun.
Flamingo watching spot, deep sea fishing, golf, Mayan ruins and
excellent sea food are just a few of the great things you will
experience!
The house sits on a quiet and very private neighborhood where you
can enjoy the beach and breezes, palm trees, stars, spectacular
sunrises and sunsets.
We are set off the beach which affords a wonderful view of the pool,
dune and Gulf of Mexico. The beaches are wide, sandy and great for
walking and sea shelling. Swimming is good all yearlong. The Gulf
water is safe and swimming is good all yearlong. There are coral
reefs a few meters away from the property excellent for snorkeling.
For those who want more than the beach, there are many things to do
and places to explore. Mayan ruins, cenotes, haciendas, and quaint
little villages abound. The gulf also offers fishing and kayaking.
The ocean breeze keeps the house cool all the time (sometimes with
the help of the ceiling fans!!).
In the evening you can sit out on the palapa, sip a Margarita, and
watch the magnificent sunset.
Two-story beachfront house with pool, nicely decorated. The house
has 3 bedrooms upstairs fully furnished with places for hammocks and
roof ceilings the master bedroom has air conditioning.
There is a king size bed, full size bed and a single
bed linens & towels. There are tree large, nicely tiled bathrooms
with hot water showers two upstairs and the other downstairs for
visitors and pool use.
Downstairs you find the Kitchen equipped with fridge, stove,
microwave, cooking utensils, toaster, blender, coffee maker,
dishware, glassware, cookware & silverware.
A beachfront terrace goes around the pool and has space also for
the “tanning area".
It has another small room with its own bathroom downstairs for
service people.
Telchac Puerto is a small fisherman's village very safe where people
are friendly and helpful and where you will feel at home in no time
at all. There you can find a grocery store, bakery, hardware store,
laundry services, a clinic, fruits and vegetables stands, several
excellent seafood restaurants, fresh tortillas, fried fish stands,
pay phones and an internet café also you can buy fresh just caught
fish when the fishermen come in each morning. The town plaza is
shaded by beautiful old trees and offers a play area for children.
The lighthouse is situated close-by on the seaside promenade.
Chicxulub Puerto is also a small fisherman's village very safe where
people are friendly there you can find the church, laundry,
telephone, internet, DVD rental store, drugstores, the “Mercado"
where you can buy vegetables, fruits, meat…, restaurants offering
excellent seafood.
Progreso, a pleasant 15 minute drive to the west along the coast, is
a lively port town that cruise ships have recently discovered, you
can find there most of the services: laundry, telephone, internet,
supermarket, DVD rental store, banks, atms, English speaking doctors,
pharmacies, bakeries, post offices, liquor stores, new movie
theatres, fast food restaurants, and many restaurants offering
excellent seafood right at the beach in the “malecon" (the beach
board walk).
If you have a momentary longing for city life, Merida is just a 40
minute drive there you can find many of the popular food and
shopping chains found in Mexico's neighbors to the north: Costco,
Home Depot, Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Chili’s -- you get the picture.
But you certainly can avoid all of that in Merida if you choose. In
the squares and the Paseo de Montejo Avenue in the city centre you
can experience the wonderful sights, sounds, shopping, and
restaurants that this historical colonial city has to offer. The
people are very friendly and many speak English.
There is an international airport in Merida with direct flights from
Huston, Mexico City and Miami. And another one in Cancun which is
cheaper to fly there, but many people drive down from Canada and the
US. Having a car can make things easier.
There is public transportation too (buses, vans and taxis), which
you can use to move around in Progreso and Chicxulub, or to go to
Mérida and move there.
A moderate climate all year. Our 'winter' is 62F to 75F, with clean
Ocean breezes and little traffic. Walking shorts are comfortable all
winter you won't need much clothing. Canadians and others from colder
climates winter here for months. Life is relaxed. Very little crime.
In all the places in Yucatan you will find friendly people and a
peaceful atmosphere.
Canadians and Americans rent in the neighborhood throughout the
year; in most cases, they enjoy their vacations here so much that
they end up coming back every year.
Marcos, the guardian lives right behind and owns a small boat. He
often goes out to the sea fishing.
A wonderful home base to see all the wonders of the Yucatan
peninsula.
Don't worry about bringing anything but your bathing suits, clothes
and food, because the house is well equipped with everything you
