This beautifully restored adobe is located in the historic Llano Compound on a street that followed the ordinances promulgated by King Philip of Spain in 1573. Built in the 1970's under the direction of architect Phil Hawes (who later designed Biosphere 2 in Arizona) most of the workers were residents of a commune at Synergia Ranch with names such as Omni, Firefly, Thunder Cloud and Zig Zag. The environmentally conscious craftsmen severely restricted the use of power tools, worked only four hours a day four days a week and built the structures to take advantage of the prevailing winds (eliminating the need for air conditioning and the accompanying noise pollution.) The newly remolded kitchen has Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances. The two master bedrooms have two king sized beds and a third room has a trundle bed as well as serving as the library with a copier, fax and computer with wireless high speed internet access. There are hardwood and brick floors, two kiva fireplaces, two baths, front and back spacious walled courtyards and an upstairs balcony ideal for enjoying your morning coffee or watching the beautiful Santa Fe sunsets. This is a Santa Fe beauty with art that will make you think you are in a Canyon Road gallery. And best of all, its East Palace location is in walking distance to the Plaza and Canyon Road.
