Cedar Tree Cottage -- Romantic Getaway -- 1 BR/1 BA -- Hot Tub, Wi-Fi, View
Cedar Tree Cottage is a charming mountain getaway, overlooking the town of Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park beyond. There is a lush garden entrance with a bubbling fountain pool, a deck with rocking chairs to enjoy the view, and a secluded brick patio, with hot tub sheltered by the weathered Cedar tree that gives the cabin its name.
Inside, oak floors, stained glass and wood shuttered windows, and a painted kitchen mural give the cabin a truly pleasurable ambiance. Kitchen features include stove, refrigerator, complete silverware and dishes, an oak table and two chairs, toaster, and microwave. There is a futon that converts to a sleeper for extra guests. Wireless Internet access is available inside and outside the cabin thanks to the free Wi-Fi provided by the town of Bryson City. Cable TV can be enjoyed in the living room and bedroom.
Cedar Tree Cottage is convenient to all the activities in Western North Carolina: fishing, hiking, shopping, boating, horseback riding, gem mining and more. The cabin is a five minute walk into Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountains Rail Road Depot. One of the area's main rivers, the Tuckasegee, passes through the center of town. If you don’t feel like cooking, enjoy the fine dining and fireplace bar at the historic Fryemont Inn just a five minute walk away.
The Deep Creek and Noland Creek entrances to the Great Smoky National park are both around a 10 minute drive. The Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation is a 20 minute drive and is home to Harrah’s Casino, “Unto These Hills" outdoor docu-drama documenting the history of the Trail of Tears, several historic museums, and more.
Just a scenic hour East of Bryson City, Asheville has a wealth of entertainment and dining options, including the Grove Park Inn and Spa and Biltmore Estate.
Outdoor adventure abounds here, from boating to fishing or swimming on Lake Fontana, whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, and miles of exquisite hiking trails in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Nantahala National Forest, and Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest.
