Crayke is nearby with an award winning pub, as is Stillington with a local shop and 2 pubs, and the market town of Easingwold provides all the usual amenities. Brandsby is ideally placed for touring, with the popular City of York just 14 miles away, whilst within an hour's drive are the stunning North York Moors and East Coast seaside towns of Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby. The surrounding area around is steeped in history, with many abbeys, stately homes and gardens, including Castle Howard, Byland Abbey and Helmsley Castle. Also nearby are full size and miniature steam railways, together with Flamingo Land and The Forbidden Corner for the children, and superb eating places for the whole family. There are an abundance of market towns to explore, lovely villages and superb walking opportunities. This is an excellent destination for a varied year-round holiday.
