A fabulous, classic cottage on a National Trust sheep farm, just over half a mile from the quaint hamlet of Newlands and only five miles from Keswick. This cottage is set in some of the finest countryside in the Lakeland area, and from its high position it provides the most breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding fells. It is fully renovated and has two delightful bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. Beautiful bathroom with bath, shower over, WC and basin. Lovely fitted kitchen with dining area. Utility room in outhouse. Snug sitting room with woodburning stove. The cottage has a welcoming atmosphere for guests. There are great walks from the doorstep, such as the Newlands Horseshoe, a five hour walk with stunning views of Skiddaw and Blencathra, this is an ideal destination for those who love the outdoors. The village of Braithwaite nearby, offers traditional pubs and good village shops, and the lovely old Lakeland town of Keswick is only a short drive away Amenities: Electric storage heating, woodburning stove in sitting room. Electric oven & hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine (in utility outhouse), dishwasher, colour TV, DVD, radio/CD, WiFi. Small library of books. Electricity & fuel for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Cot & highchair on request. Off road parking for 3 cars. Storage shed for coats/boots. Patio area & small garden with furniture & BBQ. One well behaved dog welcome (to be kept under control, and only in the kitchen/diner at all times). Sorry, no smoking. Shops & pubs 2 miles.
