This is a pretty, late Victorian cottage, located in the renowned village of Sleights. This delightful, stone built property has been lovingly decorated and furnished offering well equipped accommodation. There are two bedrooms: 1 x double with a charming four-poster kingsize bed, 1 x adult bunk. Bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and basin. Fitted kitchen. Sitting room with dining area and gas fire. Flanked on either side by beautiful hills, the tranquil village of Sleights offers two pubs, a bakery, an award winning butcher, a fish and chip shop and a charming antique shop, while the village of Grosmont nearby presents a superb opportunity to enjoy a nostalgic steam train ride through breathtaking scenery. Just 4 miles away is the historic fishing port of Whitby, famous for its remarkable Abbey, whilst the magnificent North York Moors and the stunning Heritage Coast are within easy reach. This is a wonderful base for an enjoyable holiday, any time of the year. About the Area: Whitby 4 miles. Sleights, being just 4 miles from the scenic Yorkshire coastline, is also on the edge of dramatic moors country, with attractive villages and scenery scattered around, is ideal for both a coastal and country holiday. Although peaceful, Sleights boasts two pubs, an antique shop with caf, a fish and chip shop, a butchers, bakery and a post office. The North Yorkshire Steam Railway terminus is only few minutes' drive, as is regular public transport to and from the nearby port of Whitby. Whitby, lying at the mouth of the River Esk, is perfectly situated for exploring this magnificent part of Yorkshire. It is an amazing town of hidden alleys and winding streets, a beautiful harbour, secure sandy beaches and, of course, reached by the famous 199 steps, the Abbey. Amenities: Full gas central heating throughout with additional heating from gas fire in sitting room. Gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, 2 x colour TVs, video, DVD, CD player/radio etc. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Small courtyard at rear with garden furniture. One well behaved dog welcome (over 1 year old) at 10 per week. Sorry, no smoking. Shop 5 mins walk, pub 2 mins walk
