Just 3 miles away is the vibrant seaside resort of Scarborough, providing a range of attractions, such as a majestic castle, beautiful parks and gardens and some lovely, golden sandy beaches. Nearby is the scenic fishing village of Robin Hoods Bay and its quaint cobbled streets and dramatic rock formations, whilst the old town of Whitby, with is renonwed abbey, is only 15 minutes away. The whole of the North York Moors is within easy reach for those in search of walks, cycling and nature watching opportunities. This is an excellent holiday base for the whole family. About the Area: Whitby 20 miles; Pickering 17 miles. Scarborough is a vibrant seaside town that has been popular since Victorian times, the it has retained many of its original buildings, gardens and parks, as well as a historic Castle overlooking the town. North and South bay have two excellent stretches of stunning, sandy beaches, renowned with families and children. Within the town there are many popular attractions, such as the Stephen Joseph Theatre, which premieres all Sir Alan Ayckbourn's plays. Add to this all the seaside entertainment and vibrant promenades close to the beach and Scarborough is the destination offering something for everyone. It is perfectly placed for touring the rest of the coastline and the Moors inland, Scarborough is an awesome base for a fun-filled break.
