A delightful stone built period cottage, adjoining the owners' house, located in a peaceful rural location at the head of Danby Dale. This charming 'upside down' cottage is furnished and decorated to a very high standard offering a warm and welcoming base. There are two ground floor bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin. First floor bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and basin. First floor, well equipped, fitted kitchen with dining area. Spacious first floor sitting room with spectacular views into the valley head, and a flame effect fire. Lovely lawned garden, perfect for sitting out and relaxing. A haven for cyclists and walkers, the surrounding countryside offers numerous footpaths, cycle trails and bridle ways, some of which can even be accessed from the cottage door. This fantastic property with its tranquil location, and its proximity to the countryside and the coast, provides a perfect base for an enjoyable and relaxing break. About the Area: Guisborough 12 miles; Pickering 15 miles; Whitby 18 miles. Castleton is a beautiful village in the Esk Valley, in the centre of the North York Moors National Park. The vibrant village is surrounded by stunning scenery, and offers excellent amenities - two pubs serving good food, a village shop and a Co op, tea rooms, a post office and a little art gallery. There is a railway station that serves the Esk Valley and Whitby, also linking with the steam line to the pretty market town of Pickering. Nearby is the Camphill Village Trust community of Botton, with its craft workshops and shops selling home produced food, books and craft items. Just over an hour away is the historic city of York, and within easy driving distance are the coastal towns and villages of Whitby, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay and Sandsend with its superb beach all are well worth a visit.
