In a quiet corner of the pretty village of Lastingham, beside a stream, stands a pretty 18th century stone built cottage with comfortable and spacious accommodation. It is furnished and equipped to a high standard with three bedrooms: 2 x twin, 1 x double, two with washbasins. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, washbasin and WC. There is also a ground floor WC and basin. The cottage has retained many of its original features, featuring beamed ceilings, window seats and an open fire in the sitting room. The separate dining room has a serving hatch to the fully equipped kitchen/breakfast room. An attractive sun lounge at the rear of the cottage opens on to the lovely enclosed walled garden. This property is ideal as an excellent base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and The Heritage East Coastline. The owners reside next door and personally welcome visitors. Local Information: Pickering 7 miles; Yorkshire Coast 25 miles; York 30 miles. Lastingham is a charming village, engendering peace and relaxation, with much to offer today's holidaymaker. It has a unique beauty, with historic interest, nestled amongst the folds of hills at the southern edge of the North York Moors. This quiet haven has less than 100 residents and has a delightful olde worlde pub, The Blacksmith's Arms, but its most famous building is probably the beautiful, historic Crypt Church of St Mary with its impressive ancient crypt. There are various attractions in the surrounding area, including The North York Moors Steam Railway, Eden Camp Modern History Museum and Flamingo Land Theme Park and the Hutton-le-Hole Folk Museum. There are numerous castles, abbeys, churches and stately homes to visit, not to mention the magnificent Castle Howard. Last, but not least, there's the fabulous countryside, woodland and heather moorland, hills, dales and coast.
