Aislaby is a small rural village located amidst the beautiful rolling countryside of the Esk Valley, overlooking Sleights and only three miles from Whitby. The village boasts beautiful sandstone cottages centred around a main street and a thriving community served by the old church and a traditional old pub. In the surrounding area visit the renowned church of St Hedda with its painted ceiling, walk through the stunning Arncliffe Woods, or explore the ancient mill on the banks of the River Esk. The location is also perfect for exploring the magnificent North York Moors and the small fishing villages and resort towns of this lovely coastline. Whitby which is nearby was once the home of Captain James Cook, and is a charming, atmospheric town of hidden alleys and winding streets, with a picturesque harbour, lovely sandy beaches and of course the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.
