Clistivan was a wonderful place for our holiday. Hetre was very comfortable indeed and the owners were incredibly welcoming - catering to our requests, offering useful tips and providing entertaining conversation. It was a fantastic place to go with a toddler - boxes and boxes of toys provided, as well as balls and bats for playing with outside, and lots of safe outside space for running around in, picking up acorns, running down slopes and pusing around carts. Great mix of destinations within relatively easy reach - beaches, castles, river walks, animal parks, markets, beautiful villages, boat trips and elegant cities. And the excellent village shop and bakery is a 10 min walk from Clistivan for when you need a day at home! All highly recommended.

This year we spent our holiday in Clistivan for the second time, because it’s so great there: You’ll find inside the typical Breton stone cottage everything you need to enjoy a comfortable time: microwave, internet connection, satellite-tv, dishwasher and a washing machine. In the beautiful garden (the hospitable owner mows the lawn every weekend) there’s a barbecue for your exclusive use. It’s a quiet and peaceful location with a long-range view over the unique landscape.

Andrew and Lyndsey give many advices about interesting things to do like sandy beaches, ancient city centres, castles, hikes, restaurants and actual events in the surroundings. I just remember two of them: The old handcraft festival in Baud and the oyster festival in Sainte Helene.

In the next village La Chapelle-Neuve, which is a 10 minute walking away, you can buy bread in the little grocery and other necessary things for you daily need. More fresh food you can get on the weekly markets in the closer region or in Baud (about 7 km away).

There is big collection of leaflets provided about useful tips for excursions and about different kinds of sport activities too (canoeing on the river Blavet, adventure forest in Camors).

We enjoyed delicious food there and gained insight to the Breton’s way of life and the pristine nature, when we were hiking.

All the equipment is suitable for children, who will find lots of games, DVDs and a high chair.

Die Lage der Häuser ist idyllisch, umgeben von Feldern und vielen Wegen zum Spazierengehen. Es steht genügend Platz zur Verfügung, dass Kinder draußen spielen können. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (3 Supermärkte) bestehen im nächsten Ort 5-6km entfernt. Dort sind auch einige Restaurants bzw. Creperien vorhanden. Während unseres Aufenthaltes hat ein kleiner Tante-Emma-Laden im Dorf aufgemacht, der das Notwendigste verkauft.
Das Ferienhaus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man auch von zu Hause kennt. Vom Geschirrspüler bis zur Mikrowelle ist alles vorhanden sowie reichlich Küchenutensilien. Die Wohnungen wurden sehr liebevoll eingerichtet, so dass man sich sofort wohl fühlt. Man hat einen großen Garten mit schöner Aussicht und entsprechenden Sitz- und Liegemöbeln. Auch ein Grill ist vorhanden. In der Wohnung findet man reichlich Spiele und Spielzeug, vorallem für kleinere Kinder.
Die Besitzer sind sehr darauf bedacht, dass sich die Gäste von der ersten Sekunde an wohlfühlen und stehen jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite.
An Freizeitmöglichkeiten findet man in der näheren Umgebung einen Kletterpark, Kanufahrten, Wanderungen und vieles mehr. Strände sind eine gute halbe Stunde entfernt, sauber und nicht überlaufen. Zu empfehlen sind die weitläufigen Strände von Erdeven und Quiberon, kleinere und schön gelegene findet man südlich in der Bucht von Morbihan. Jede Menge von Tipps kann man auch von den Besitzern erhalten.
Man sollte sich auch im Sommer mit warmer und regenfester Kleidung rüsten, da dass Wetter sehr unbeständig ist und schnell umschlägt.
Wir können Clistivan uneingeschränkt empfehlen für Leute, die einen erholsamen Urlaub verbringen wollen, ohne Streß und Trubel.
