Placed in the middle of the beautiful Sussex Downland village of Wilmington with its 12th century church, Priory and 1600 year old Yew tree, in an 'area of outstanding natural beauty' and National Park, It keeps company with the historic figure of the 'Long Man of Wilmington' cut into the chalk landscape and guarding the stunning scenery of the Seven Sisters Country Park. This spacious annexe consists of the main wing of the Inn, off a courtyard adjoining the artist owners' studio and office, with private parking for 2 cars behind 7' wooden gates, with a glorious 1 acre shared garden. This 3 bedroomed, 1 bathroom, beamed property provides a large farmhouse kitchen with Aga, dishwasher etc. Open inglenook log fire, Sky TV in 2 reception rooms, family games, garden furniture. The South Downs is a very special place loved for its natural beauty, tranquility and diversity of woodland, country lanes, ancient villages and 4000 year history.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A cot is available for babes-in-arms but regretfully no children under 12 years of age.
    Weekly rental price from £650 per week to £750 in high season. The rental price is inclusive of electricity, oil-fired central heating and Aga, all linen and towels plus initial logs and kindling.

    Short breaks of up to three nights are available at 70% of the weekly cost throughout the year except Easter, Christmas and New Year holidays. Any period over 3 nights is the full weekly cost. Contact the owner for prices and availability.

    A housekeeping bond of £60 is also payable which we undertake to return to your home address within one week of your departure.

    2 steep curved staircases, unsuitable for the very elderly and infirm.
    6' head clearance on many beams and low 17thC doorways! Sorry no pets.
    Please no smoking in bedrooms.

The accommodation is the main part of the historic inn, with its own courtyard with furniture and adjoining the artist owner's studio and office. The owner's appartment is totally separate with their own courtyard within the beautiful 1 acre shared garden which is available to holidaymakers at all times with family games to play, boules, Jenga etc.

A Clematis and Wisteria filled courtyard leading in to a large, heavily beamed and quarry-tiled farmhouse kitchen with Aga, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, large refectory table and chairs, walk-in larder with washer/dryer and microwave. Step up to the morning/dining room with a rug and one total wall of bookcase incorporating Sky TV, DVD player with a comprehensive selection of titles, CD player. The sitting room has an inglenook log fire with a second TV and board games. There are three bedrooms accessed by 2 curved, narrow and steep wooden staircases, one with a king size brass bed, a heavily beamed twin, and one further single leading into the bathroom with bath, shower attachment and heated towel rail.
