West Woodburn offers a village pub and post office, while the historic village of Otterburn, with its breathtaking views over the North Tyne Valley, is a real haven for walkers and cyclists. Slightly further afield lies Kielder Forest and Waters, excellent for fishing, horse riding and nature watching. Within a short drive is the lively city of Newcastle upon Tyne. About the area: Otterburn 5 miles; Newcastle upon Tyne 34 miles. The superb village of West Woodburn is set amidst the deep Rede Valley and was once a vital resting point in Roman times for travellers that were on route to Scotland from York.
