A lovely self contained wing of a former Victorian hospital, set in the small hamlet of Meathop, just 3 miles from Grange-over-Sands. Furnished and decorated to a high standard, this superb property has been designed in an 'upside down' style with the sitting room and kitchen on the first floor to make the best of the pleasant views. Ground floor bathroom with bath with shower over, WC and basin. First floor fitted kitchen with dining area. Sitting room with double aspect windows to enjoy the views. With spacious, wooded mature grounds, this is a perfect base for relaxing and from which to take scenic walks in the nearby woods or along the Cumbrian Way. The grounds attract a host of wildlife, with lots of bird species feeding at the kitchen window, including woodpeckers! About the area: Grange-Over-Sands 3 miles; Windermere 15 miles. The quaint hamlet of Meathop rests in the southern Lake District National Park, only a couple of miles from the coastal estuary, it is a peaceful area in a rural location on the path of the Cumbrian Coastal Way. Close by is Lindale, situated on the slopes of Hampsfield Fell, with a real 'Lakeland feel' to its narrow streets, quaint old pubs and traditional dwellings. Cartmel, with its renowned yearly horse race, and the beautiful coastal resorts of Arnside and Grange are all neighbours well worth a visit. A short drive away are Lake Windermere and the villages of Bowness-on-Windermere and Newby Bridge, which have retained the charm and character that has endeared them to so many.
