This superb house dates back to the 12th century.
Set in 7 hectares of meadow (approx. 17 acres), bordered by a stream and trees, it is within walking distance of the River Dordogne and 5 minutes drive to canoe rental for exploring one of the most beautiful rivers in France. The charming medieval town of Martel, with its twice-weekly traditional covered market, is close by, as are some of the best regional restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns.
It is a most attractive and unusual house, the rooms are long and spacious and, although having only 2 double bedrooms (situated on the second floor) areas on the ground and first floors can be discreetly screened off to provide extra sleeping accommodation on comfortable double sofa beds with bathrooms and WCs on each floor. Visitors to this lovely house will understand why further bedrooms could not be formed as the whole ambience and charm of the property would have been spoiled. The furnishings are quite beautiful and it is wonderfully equipped.
Superb situation, very secluded and quiet. The whole area is full of amazing birds and wild-life, ideal for nature lovers and a photographer's paradise.
