Faysselle comprises three beautiful holiday cottages for rent (sleeping 4, 6 and 6) set in 12 acres of garden, woodland and meadow in the beautiful countryside of Lot-et-Garonne, South West France. The local area has much to offer all the family, with beautiful bastide villages and markets to explore, leisure lakes, vineyards and a theme park in Agen, our closest town. Horse-riding, tennis and golf are all within easy reach. The 10.5m x 5.5m swimming pool is the great attraction, and there is also a 'mini' pool (ideal for toddlers) with waterfall. The owners and their three golden retrievers live (inconspicously) on site and are available for any information or help you require. We can provide evening meals. Why not start your holiday by joining us for dinner on our wonderful balcony overlooking this glorious countryside?

Nearest Airport: Toulouse at 65 Miles
Nearest Ferry: St Malo at 460 Miles

The region is full of historical interest and was much fought over during the Hundred Years' War. there are numerous bastide villages to explore, along with colourful markets selling the wonderful local fruit and vegetables. We are close the wine growing areas of Buzet, Duras and Cahors, and for food lovers this area is a must! Magret and confit of duck, foie gras, melons, plums and soft fruit are all produced locally. Agen is famous for its prunes and if your only memory of prunes is from school dinners, wait until you try prunes in Armagnac. You will never think of them in the same way again! Restaurants vary from basic regional cooking to haute cuisine, and prices from 10 euros for a three course lunch to the somewhat more expensive (!) Michelin 3 star restaurant in nearby Puymirol. Golf and horse riding are close by and there are several leisure lakes with 'beaches'.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Saturday changeover during July/August. Outside these dates we endeavour to be flexible where possible. Arrival after 4pm. Departure before 10am. Evening meals are available on request. Home-made ice cream available!

    Why not join us for dinner on your first night and immediately get into 'relax' mode? We will serve you and your fellow guests with a four course dinner and wine, sitting on our wonderful balcony with views across the valley. A perfect start to the Fayselle experience!

Downstairs is a large living area with comfy seats and a wood-burning fire, dining area with large dining table and a well-equipped oak kitchen (new 2008) with dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, washing machine, oven, hob and microwave. French doors lead onto a terrace, shaded by a vine-covered pergola with barbeque. The thick stone walls keep the living area delightfully cool in the hot summer and the wood-burning fire recirculates into the upstairs main bedroom, making this a cosy gite even during the winter. A stone staircase from the lounge climbs to an attractive gallery landing leading to a double bedroom with views over the surrounding fields, and a twin bedroom which looks out over our gardens. Both bedrooms are equipped with fans for any warm and sultry nights. There is an attractive shower/wc looking out over the pergola with the heady perfume of roses and honeysuckle in early summer.

The gite has a good selection of family games for any inclement weather (well, just in case!) , along with satellite tv which includes all BBC tv and radio channels. DVD player. The main attraction of Faysselle is the pretty 10.5m x 5.5m pool with a mini pool (ideal for toddlers) with waterfall cascading into the main pool. There are plenty of sunloungers, umbrellas and space for sunbathing for all guests. Pool games, badminton, snooker and boules are all provided. Also children's swings.
