My brother and I took a vacation together, the first in over 25 years, and our selecting The Shoreboy just added to the memories of our trip. It definitely met our expecations. The view from the picture window is awesome! We saw pelicans diving and fishing every day; snowy egrets and seagulls visited the dock from time to time, too. There was even a kite surfer in the Sound one day "doing his stuff". Our trip to the OBX was absolutely wonderful! And our contact, Bonnie, was very friendly. She was able to answer several of my brother's questions and gave many helpful suggestions.
We didn't eat in very much but when we did the kitchen had everything for our cooking needs ... and then some!
As for shopping, activities and dining, what we liked were: Connor's Supermarket, in Buxton, which we found to have very reasonably priced items. Our shopping included a stop at T-Shirt Whirl, Super Wings in Avon as well as The Old Gray House in Buxton, and Island Gifts which is conveniently located around the corner from The Shoreboy. In Hatteras we ate dinner at Rocco's Pizza and breakfast at The Gingerbread House; our last evening on the OBX we had dinner in Buxton at Diamond Shoals. Also, we went to Ocracoke for the day; we stopped at the Backporch Lunchbox where we picked up cold sandwiches and ate at the marina, then had a quick appetizer at Howard's Pub before heading back to Hatteras.
Thank you for a lovely experience! We'll be sure to recommend this property to our family and friends. Our selections for next year's visit to the OBX will definitely include The Shoreboy depending on if my husband and brother want to bring our dogs or not. It'll be a tough decision because we really liked The Shoreboy!
