Aside from the peaceful setting, this land's rich history dates back before the Civil War! The Cove at Add’s Place is built on a portion of the Rev. Mark Broyles family farm. The original, century old, log cabin still sits in the meadow below. It was last home to Addison Broyles and his family, and was occupied until the late 1940’s. Each newly married Broyles son and his bride moved here to “set up housekeeping" away from the larger farmhouse nearby. The driveway once provided access to a mica mine further up the mountain and during the winter months, hike up to the mountain top for incredible the winter views. This property also is adjacent to the Nature Preserve and one can see wildlife -- from wild boar to wild turkeys -- flourishing.
