Entering Windfall is like stepping onto the pages of Coastal Living magazine. This upscale five-bedroom cottage offers guests the perfect blend of privacy and gathering space. Located in the beachfront community of WaterColor, Windfall boasts a wealth of impressive detailing, including 12-foot ceilings, antique heart pine floors and gourmet kitchen. In keeping with its southern coastal roots, it even has a sleeping porch! Note the casually elegant mix of furnishings and collectibles assembled with both comfort and style in mind. Guests enter via a covered rear porch into a welcoming hallway. To the immediate right is a white-tiled bath featuring a generous walk-in shower with both overhead and hand-held fixtures, plus single granite-topped vanity with bead board cabinet base. An additional door opens from the rear porch directly into the shower, allowing sandy feet to bypass the hall entrance. Just past the bath on the right is a bedroom furnished with daybed and trundle, perfect for children. Across the hall on the left is the home’s master bedroom with king bed, walk-in closet and private bath. Finished in white tile, marble and pale blue tones, this bath has a dual vanity, deep soaking tub and separate shower. The end of the entry hallway opens to the spacious, light-filled living area. The keeping room to the left allows guests to chat with the cook in the kitchen on the right. Furnished with a sofa, chair and ottoman, the keeping room features two pairs of 8-foot tall single light French doors which opens to the generous screened porch, which runs the length of the main living area and offers ample seating. The kitchen tempts guests to dine in, with stainless appliances including dual fuel 6-burner range with griddle, and French door refrigerator/freezer. Granite countertops extend to the bar area with seating for three. Just past the kitchen is the living/dining area featuring three pairs of 8-foot tall glass doors opening to the screened porch. Inside, the dining area seats six. The living room is comfortably furnished with two sofas, an overstuffed chair and pair of upholstered ottomans. Windows along the front wall overlook Western Lake Drive. Between the kitchen and dining areas, the staircase leads guests to Windfall’s second floor featuring two bedrooms, plus self-contained one-bedroom apartment. Straight ahead at the second floor landing is a bedroom furnished with a pair of twin beds and featuring natural light. Glass double doors open to the upper level screened porch. Off the landing to the left is a bedroom with full bed and a pair of glass doors opening to the screened porch. Each bedroom has its own private bath with combination tub/shower and single granite-topped vanity. The sleeping porch boasts a single twin bed suspended from the bead board ceiling, three rocking chairs, plus table and three chairs. A pair of louvered doors on the porch leads to the private upstairs apartment. Glass entry doors open to the living, dining and kitchenette equipped with refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven. There is also private access at the rear of the home. The apartment’s bedroom features a queen bed, walk-in closet and private bath with combination tub/shower and single granite-topped vanity.
