If it’s possible, the trees look taller at Fawnskin Hideaway. At nighttime, as you’re sprawled out across the bubbles of a righteous sunken Jacuzzi tub, the stars in the night sky seem to be hanging from the very tips of these spectacular oversized pines. You get the urge to just lay there and float until the sun comes up or you prune…neither is a very good idea, but, anything’s possible here.

By 7 a.m., the next morning your feet are propped up outside again on a reclining chair. The steam from your coffee dances in circles while thirty feet from the tip of your socked toe natures finest are gathering breakfast. On the tree to the right are a husband and wife team of anxious woodpeckers. To the left a zealous blue jay with the bluest feathers you’ve ever seen and straight head a couple of teeny tiny chipmunks who look nothing like Chip and Dale. Oddly enough, you seem to be no distraction to them being, but to you, being this close to it all is captivating.

It should be another two hours before everyone else in the house finds their way out of bed. The plan today is to pack an elaborate picnic lunch and celebrate the weekend with an early afternoon on the bay. Another amazing day at Fawnskin Hideaway.

Until then it’s just you and your thoughts in a warm pair of socks…who could ask for anything more?
