My name is Joana and it's me who takes care of the farm since 2000. I live in Lisbon, but I often come to the farm and I assure you that this is a magical place where I always find peace. Here, I invite you all to dive into nature. To look at the sky at night and see the glare of the stars. Feel the silence of the soul occasionally interrupted by a cry of the owl and the birds singing. See the swallows play in the pool. See females protect their children with affection. Breathe clean air. See beautiful orange sunsets and the full moon that rises to illuminate the night. Smell the flowers ... the earth ... the air ... Herdade das Coutadas is a peaceful charming farm which lies within 30 acres of woodland, surrounded by beautiful cork oaks. 8 km far from the town of Portalegre close to São Mamede Natural Park and the border with Spain. It is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled places of Portugal with lots of medieval castles and ancient remains to visit. The UNESCO heritage village of Marvão, nearby, is a high spot of sightseeing.
