Mojacar Playa has over 10 kilometres of continuous clean, sandy beach, with a promenade supporting bars, restaurants and a variety of shops.
Many of the bars and restaurants lie on the beach itself and offer sun-shades, loungers and waiter service.
A car will enable you to see the many local places of interest, but don’t despair if you don’t drive. A good local bus service is on hand to most destinations, including the beautiful pueblo (village). This is only 2 kilometres from the beach and nestles in the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera mountains. Visit the open market on a Wednesday and go and see the beautiful church. The view from the village square is absolutely stunning. Don’t miss the quaint fuente (fountain) where you can collect fresh spring water and still watch some locals use the facilities for their laundry.
To get to Mojacar Playa, flights are available to Almeria, Murcia and Alicante with airport pick up by arrangement if required. However, there are many car hire firms operating within these airports, albeit UK websites may give you cheaper options.
