Ideal for families and groups in winter or summer. The 3 bedroom apartment sleeps up to 10 and the 2 bedroom sleeps 5. The building is near Argentiere and they are ideally located for the great variety of mountain pursuits that has made the Chamonix Valley Europe's number one alpine resort. Whether you wish to ski, climb, walk, mountain-bike, play golf or just relax among the spectacular scenery, Argentière has all the ingredients for a perfect summer or winter holiday. The apartments are spacious, comfortable and well equipped.. The kitchens have a dishwasher, fridge, cooker, microwave and breakfast bar. Also and there's a stereo, flat screen DVD player, film library and Wi-Fi Broadband. The bedrooms are comfortable and there are large lounges with separate dining areas. The views from these apartments are truly astounding. There is private parking, good disabled access (3 bed only) and are child/pet friendly. There are shops, bars & restaurants nearby in Argentiere.

Skiing: Close to Le Tour Ski lift. Good access to Grands Montets and other ski areas. A car is useful but not essential as the bus and train both stop near the flat and link all ski areas during the day. Tickets are included in the cost of the lift pass.

There is little to add to the other reviews. Everything was perfect - spacious, well-equipped, great location. The flat is in a fascinating building with lots of history. Great owner communication. Very convenient for skiing. - we had a fantastic time

Excellent location, easy to get to just by Montroc train station where there is also a stop for the free bus that goes to all ski resorts in the Chamonix Valley. The apartment is in a very quiet location but certainly not isolated. Ideal for families as well as for groups of keen skiers. The apartment is spacious and has everything you need including free wi-fi, much appreciated by the youngsters for face book and skyping and there is a very well equipped kitchen. The dining table is huge and there is lots of space around it. We were 7 and it certainly was not crowded. The sitting area is also spacious and works well. The beds are very comfortable and everything was clean and well maintained. The local agent who looks after the apartment was very helpful. The ski area of Le Tour is just 3 minutes away by free bus and Argentiere is some 10 minutes away. Argentiere has cash point, pharmacy, restaurants, bakeries and a well stocked "mini market", Marche U.
I can certainly recommend Bel Alp to friends, relatives and anybody else.

We had a good stay in Bel Alp over Christmas

The apartment works well and is of course in an excellent position in relation to the free ski bus and with short distances to especially Le Tour and Argentiere ski areas. In a very quiet location yet not isolated. Excellent for families with young children and for those who are not so interested in the après ski scene.

Very spacious.

Very short distances to two excellent ski areas, Le Tour and Argentiere, and not far from Chamonix itself. Free bus.

Good mini marche, Marche U, in Argentiere. Has most of what you need for a week or two.

Free wi fi. We had four youngsters who were on face book for a little while every day and I was regularly looking at emails and googling matters coming up in conversations. On a few occasions we skyped relations back in the UK.

Spacious Chamonix Valley Appartment

The appartment is very spacious and easily accomodated the 7 of us..much much bigger than other accomodation I have stayed in, great facilities in the appartment for self catering and amazing views (we loved watching the piste basher lights on the Grand Montet at night! Location between Le Tour and Argentiere means a car is ideal although Cham bus is availble only a 200 metrs away for the slopes - train to Chamonix etc even closer, The car does makes it easier for the supermarket, bars and restaurants in Argentiere. Would definitley return (the only reason we are not returning this year is I am pregnant and not ski-ing!) a gem of a place to explore the Chamonix valley for ski-ing - we had a great week with a mixture of weather from sun, snow and an avalanche closing the road to Switzerland and the cars being directed through the train tunnel next to the appartment!
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing
Owner's Response: The bus is free with ski pass and connects all the ski locations in the Chamonix valley every 15 mins during the day. A car is not essential but more convenient, certainly in the evenings.

We stayed six days in this property and we found the apartment confortable and well serviced. Actually Juliet, the changer over manager, is very nice and provided excellent support. The property is well located in Mont Roc near ski resort of Le Tour and close to bus stops and train station. The wireless internet is very fast and reliable. Although, the vacationist needs to be aware of the following: 1) the HomeAway site affirms that no car is needed but during winter the bus stops at 17:00, so no way to get transportation to Argentiere in the evening. In theory it is posssible to walk to Argentiere to go to the market or a pizzeria but to walk by the road is not safe. ( the pedestrian path was full of snow and even in normal conditions would take 35 minutes walking through the countryside to Argentiere. In Mont Roc there is no place to eat or to buy bread). 2) The last train from Chamonix to MontRoc departs at 20:15 ( so think about if want to have dinner in Chamonix because one taxi to Mont Roc could cost more that 40 €). Besides, during high winter ski season, buses are always full and sometimes they do not stop.
Concerning the site HomeAway, they should be more precise because in the table of facilities they write TV , but in fact the TV ( flat screen) is not connected to satellite or cable. i.e, it is only possible to watch DVD movies (disclaimer to the owner because on the owners ‘site the TV screen is described properly). Another thing the HomeAway site should inform is that the heating system is electrical and the electricity bill is additional cost.
Concerning improvements, we think that a cupboard outside of the apartment to store the skis and boots would be very useful. We also believe that towels should be provided, since it is marginal cost on top of the bed linen and would reduce the vacationist luggage.
Recommended for:  Families with Teenagers
Owner's Response: The Chamonix valley is quite long and a car is useful to use outside the bus timetable. There is a bus and train stop right outside the apartment. The bus is free with the ski pass and runs about every 15mins during the day but as detailed in the review the service is not 24h. There is a French TV signal in the apartment and plenty of DVDs for the 42" flatscreen and WiFi internet for video/TV streaming. The extra cost of electricity is clear in the terms and conditions sent out prior to booking. There is a boot and ski rack inside the apartment. Towels are available for hire if guests require them, but they are not provided routinely as the laundry charges in France are very high and this would put my prices up. The low prices charged are one of the attractions of this property.

Many major ski areas within a short drive. Good for summer and winter holidays. Easy motorway access from UK and Geneva/Lyon airports. Quiet location but close to commercial areas. Large accommodation for families or groups to pursue skiing or summer activities. Close to the vast Grands Montets skiing area of Argentiere.

Golf: Championship 18 hole course in Chamonix.

Ski: The best skiing in Europe. Skiing for all abilities, fabulous scenery and spacious lifts and slopes. Excellent snow record - skiiable usually untill mid May! From the vast powder fields of the Grands Montets to the beginner & intermediate slopes of Le Tour there is something for everybody nearby.
