THE LONGERE

This was our first experience of a Gite holiday and were not sure what to expect. All we can say is that it fully lived up to its description. The cottage is lovely and has been completed to a very high standard. It was comfortable and fairly well equipped and stands in a beautiful rural setting with interesting outbuildings and lawns.
It turned out to be in very convenient situation with regard to visiting the local towns and villages. It is our first vist to Brittany and we explored most of the area which we found to be absolutely charming. Pontrieux is a real find but all of the places we visited turned out to have character and distinction. The countryside, in some ways is so like England, but then you look at the domestic architecture and it is obviously so quintessentially French.
Our French is very basic but we were treated everywhere with kindness with a smile, something that will remain with us.
A holiday we will remember with affection.

You never know when arriving at your destination for the first time what to expect. We need'nt have worried as the welcome was as warm as the night air. Janet and her family were on hand to make sure our first impressions would match our lofty expectations. We would not be dissapointed.

The cottage was well appointed with all the mod cons you would expect and then more some. The availability of interent wireless connection and freeview TV was a bonus we did not expect.

Immaculately laid out and spotlessly clean we were surprised by he space and modern feel.

Outside the back is a small oasis of peace and quite where you can sit and enjoy a good book supported with a glass of french wine. The open fields and landscape gardens add to the feel of quality.

To the front is a tailored drive and playing area which the owners have cleverly made into a family games area wher badminton in particular is the order of the day.

The local area is fantastic for walking along stunning coast or if with a family good beaches. The area also has a selection of attractions the pick of which we found to be the Galic Village. Don't miss local towns such as Pampol which provide a wealth of variety.

Further afield St Marlo is also well worth a trip.

Most of all you should take advantage of the unbeatable hospitality of the hosts who cannot do enough for you from giving advice on where to find little places to vist to barbecuies on the front lawn.

Once you have been you will want to go back

This was our second visit to Crech Mordo and will not be our last. The cottage is fantastic with everything you would possibly need, whether your a couple on your own or a family (as we are). Our children are aged between 2 and 8 and love to be outside playing in the wood, cycling round the lanes or having a game of badminton or cricket on the back lawn. Close to beaches so plenty of sandcastles or body boarding. Pontreuix is a beautifully village with friendly locals and plenty to see and do and is within walking distance of the cottage ( may see otters if your lucky). Pamipol is worth a visit on the local train as it has a nice harbour.
If you visit out of season the cottage is warming and cosy, especially with the log fire. So all that is required is a good book and great bottle of french wine.
Mick, Janet, Jeremy, Lily and Jess are fantastic hosts - so much so that when you go to leave Jess won't let you. Not that we wanted to leave anyway!
