Review of 6th floor Paris appartment - 2eme Arrond

Loads of good things to say about this place. Sam, the owner, communicates well and is very helpful. She lives locally and can provide lots of useful tips about how to get the best out of Paris. (best tip - get your Disney tickets from the Virgin store in town or at the Louvre centre 5 days before you visit, because they are half the price of tickets bought on the day). The extensive comments in the guests book are also most instructive, particularly about the immediate areas around the flat.
The flat is ideally place for exploring central Paris. There is no parking at the flat but I found the cheapest public car park in Paris was about 3 miles away at the junction of Rue Gaston Tessier and Rue de Crimee (web site of parkingsdeparis) . I dropped the family at the flat and ran back - each to his own, but the closer to the centre you are the more expensive parking becomes.
You can walk everywhere around Paris as we did - alternatively there are three different tube line stations within a 5 minute walk of the flat. Local shops are great and the pedestrianised Rue Montorgueil seems famous for its food shops. The flat is on the 6th floor, approx 100 steps up a beautiful and original wooden staircase. There are two separate bedroooms and a good double sofa bed in the living room. It sleeps 6 but it's a small flat with one bathroom so beware it'll be a tight fit. Kitchen is good with everything we wanted - bathroom is ok, although the shower drain blocked up too easilly and because the window was fixed closed it became very steamy. Comfy beds and pleasant features and fittings creating a good atmosphere and relaxing feeling. The only views are of the inner courtyard, but it means the place is incredibly quiet with no traffic noise at all. Free phone and internet access if you bring your own LT. We really enjoyed it and were happy to put up with the trek upstairs in lieu of travelling in from the suburbs daily. The Louvre is a 10 minute walk away, the Effiel tower is probably 45 minutes walk away - i ran there and back before breakfast one day. Having looked at web sites for many Paris appartments this one seemed good value to us and we would use it again.
Owner's Response: Thank you for the review. Very impressed you ran to the Eiffel Tower! We are delighted you enjoyed the apartment and its location. It is très Parisienne and in a fabulous spot. Space: In terms of Paris center, 57m2 is above average and a good sized apartment. Most Paris apartments only have one bathroom. Shower works perfectly as we asked our cleaner to pour down a special product. Again merci beaucoup!
