Had a wonderful few days at The Lake House. It was a perfect getaway for us four adults. The location is amazing, the lake is beautiful and is perfect for swimming for kids. We used their boat to take a little ride around the lake and did some fishing. Everything is a short drive away. We went to sleeping bear dunes, amazing views, canoed down the platte river, went to fish town, etc. Cooked at the grill, had fire in fireplace and just enjoyed the sunset and views from the cottage. We recommend this place highly. The owners are so very helpful which made our stay enjoyable.

We just spent a wonderful 5 days at The Lake House. Beautiful time of year. Big property for the kids to play. The lake was lovely and warm for swimming. There was ample room for 5 adults and 4 kids. Nice and clean. Sunsets were amazing. It was nice to have a fire at night. Very comfortable furniture. All in all, The Lake House was perfect for our big family.

Just returned from a fantastic week at this location. The owner was very honest in his description of the home, We found it to be very clean, well equipped , and accurately photographed. The owner and his wife were a pleasure to deal with and the entire experience could not have been better. We would recommend this home to anyone and as a family, we are looking forward to future repeat visits.

Best Vacation Ever!

I've known people from Michigan for years and I've heard all of the 'up north' stories; however, until you experience M22 yourself, you don't know what you are missing. I stayed 5 nights at the Lakehouse with my wife, 3 kids and my parents. The Lakehouse was perfect! Beachfront, Fire pit, Deck, Dock, Kayaks, BBQ grill, great swiming and wonderful Lake. We used it all. The house is fully stocked with everything you need and breathtaking views of the lake right from the family room. Sunsets were tremendous. The owner provided a great binder with a bunch of information on local things to do. The website advertised this place exactly as it came. It was clean and they provide everything you can think of to settle right in. Rustic, cabin/cottage feel to the place and very cozy. Unplug, unwind, relax and enjoy. The kids loved it and we strongly recomend the Lakehouse.

Everything is very close. We chartered a fishing boat in Fishtown (Leland -10 minute drive) visited the Dunes (a must), Glen Arbor (Cherry Republic), Empire (Friendly's Tavern), Traverse City (Front Street). Not to mention all of the relaxation time. Way too much to do in 5 days. We came at the peak of Cherry season (I think I ate about 500). We will definitely be back. Try the veggie pizza at Pegtown in Maple City or the cherry and walnut stuffed sausage at Plevas in Cedar. The owner suggested we hit Pyramid Point Trail and stroll along the beach for Petoskey stones (do it). Bring your hiking shoes as there are so many trails. Nature at its best in northern Michigan.

Best location ever!

I was a little leery about picking out a vacation spot on line, but found the pictures and descriptions most accurate. There were two parents with three children under 5, three grandparents and an uncle in our group. The living room/kitchen/dining area was perfect for us, although the layout of the bedrooms was a bit of a challenge. We couldn't tell by the pictures that the two bunk rooms were actually connected and had the bathroom with the laundry was off the bunkroom with the two beds. These rooms were a bit tight, as there was no storage in the room with the two bunks. In spite of these issues, we found we were spending most of our time on the large deck or in the sandy area. The children LOVED the rock and we have some great photos of them soaring off the top! The lake itself was perfect, with an easy access from the stairs off the dock. We did find the need for the folding chairs we all brought as there were only wire seated ones available and weren't comfortable. We didn't use the row boat, as it was really not easy to get into the water. One of the guys did take out a borrowed kayak and said our location was the best on the lake! Fishing off the dock was fun and each of the little boys caught a fish. I must say we were very lucky to have such excellent owners in Jeff and Maria. If we had a question, they would answer an e-mail quickly. There were several brochures with local information that was helpful as a starting point. We found the town of Leland quaint and easy to get around, but Glen Arbor was very congested on Saturday! We spent some time in Suttons Bay and loved all their little shops.I would suggest going to the grocery store in Cedar on Saturday rather than the IGA in Glen Arbor. It is a bit larger and has a better selection. Sleeping Bear Dunes was very interesting, but if you plan on going to any of the other state parks, check out a long term pass. Be prepared for the higher costs in the area, too. We loved eating in the small restaurants and had some amazing local food. Just down the road from this cottage is a B&B that serves great food (The Little Traverse Inn). We did order pizza one night from a place in Maple City and it was VERY expensive and VERY busy. There is no Internet, but we really didn't miss it. We will strongly encourage our friends to consider renting this wonderful cottage.

Owner's Response: We were so happy that everyone enjoyed their stay! We did add some adirondack chairs for additional, comfortable, outdoor seating for our future guests.
