Extremely spacious and sunny house with private pool just a few minutes walk from Gaucin centre, one of the best loved white villages. The house is fitted to the highest standards with wood burning stove and gas radiators, well equipped kitchen, TV with video, DVD , and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a large terrace off the kitchen for those romantic meals and a terrace off the upstairs bedroom to sit and take in 360 views. Set in an acre of olive and almond groves the views from the villa terrace are spectacular over the mountains with sun on the terrace from dawn until dusk. There is an open cool room on the lower terrace of the villa to relax in the shade and plenty of space around the pool for sitting and sunbathing . The coast and some of the best golf courses are only 25 minutes from Gaucin, Andalucia, Spain. Forty minutes drive through fantastic countryside takes you to Ronda, Cordoba, Cadiz, Seville and Granada are all within a days drive. A day trip to Morocco is a must and a guide can be arranged.

Notes: There is an amazing salt water pool set in the grounds with views all around with the sun on the pool all day. Great to sit with a gin an tonic in this tranquil setting and switch off from it all. Elderly or wheel chair access is possible for the ground floor accommodation which includes a double bedroom and full bathroom.

Gaucin Village: Gaucin village is only ten minutes walk from the villa. The village is well placed for fantastic walks (organised if required), horse riding which is available from a local stable and general sight seeing of other neighbouring White Villages. There are good local shops with everything you may require for a get away from it all break, excellent restaurants and tapas bars. The weather is hot in summer with winters of clear skies and frost free evenings. Springtime almond blossom and wild flowers colour the countryside whilst autumn sunshine is perfect to extend the summer feel good factor! Great house to relax and chill

Further afield.: Gaucin is far enough away from the busy coast (25 minutes by car) to provide a peaceful retreat and yet within easy reach of some of the main tourist attractions of the area. Gibralter is an easy day trip at only one hour away, Ronda with fabulous architecture, bullring and range of shops is 45 minutes through wonderful scenery. Cordoba, Cadiz and Seville are easily accessed by car. Morroco is a fantastic venue for a day trip or a few nights, a guide to help with all arrangements can be organised.

Finca La Luz June 09

Just returned from two weeks at Finca La Luz. Fantastic holiday and everything was as described, if not better.

Property was superb, with excellent facilities and an unbelieveable location. Ideal for a quiet relaxing break, and perfect location for exploring Andalucia.

Accomodation offers everything you could need from a holiday rental, with all the necessary appliances etc to make the stay a real home from home. Pool area is great for sun bathing and has sun from dawn until dusk. Pool is a good size and offers spectacular views of the mountains around Gaucin.

Arrangements for meet and greet were ideal, and the Finca is really easy to find.

While the track down to the Villa is a little "lumpy" we managed it without any problem in a basic hire car, and it took nothing away from the location.

Trip to Ronda is well worth the time (35 minutes) and the journey is realy scenic. Gaucin also offers all the basic facilities and some lovely restaurants.

No problem in recommending this property, and we will be back!

One week in paradise!

Four of us spent a week at the Finca in early June 2008. Although the weather was a little bit 'fresh' at the start of the week it did warm up and we were able to enjoy the outdoor pool and al fresco meals.

The Finca la Luz is a perfect place for a get-away-from-it-all holiday. The location is perfect with amazing views to the distant hills. The Finca is of a very good size and is well laid out. With bedrooms and bathrooms spread across 2 floors each party can have a good degree of privacy.

The Finca is very well equipped and very clean. This was our first ever property rental and we were absolutely delighted with the standard of the property.

Would we return? We have already booked a week in 2009!!

Just one word of caution; the track down to the Finca is a little bit scary the first time you make the journey but you do soon get used to it. And it is this track that provides the Finca with its serenity and privacy.

As for the area itself, Gaucin is a beautiful Andalucian white village and the climb up to the old castle ruins is well worth the effort even if it just to look back at the Finca. There are plenty of restaurants and tapas bars in Gaucin but opening times can be a little unreliable out of the main season. There are a couple of good local supermarkets should you wish to self cater (which we did on most evenings using the brand new gas barbecue)

Ronda is well worth a visit - there's a good market on a Sunday morning where some amazing fruit and veg are on sale. We also went to Granada for the Alhambra Palace which is a long drive (3 hours each way approx) but well worth the visit. Also, the village that you pass on the way from the coast road to Gaucin (I think it is called Caseres) is also well worth a visit.

AMAZING CHILL OUT

When we arrived we were not expecting to be met with such an amazing home from home villa. The views are astounding as is the abundant wildlife in the valley, not too mention the relaxing cool room by the pool, where you can sit in whicker chairs , a cold beer / lemondade in hand so what more could you wish for on a holiday. A short stroll to the picturesque village which is a labrinthe of pretty painted houses, bars and shops complete the holiday feel. The village is still unspoilt and gives a taste of real Spain. Can not wait to go back. Thanks

Wow, talk about instant relaxation!

The accomodation was imaculate and more than fully appointed and the welcome pack, which was awaiting us on our arrival at midnight, was so gratefully devoured. (Great choice of wine!) We felt we were in "real" Spain with it's decor and although it was Feb.and the weather rather inclemant, it was so cosy in the evenings with the huge log burner glowing.(We even cooked on it most evenings.)The proximity to gorgeous Gaucin made it walkable to the numerous bars and shops but the hillside location made it possible to experience total peace and quiet. Hopefully we will return -maybe in the summer, so we could make the most of the pool and terraces.
