Overview

Sorrento Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6-7)

Sorrento and its Peninsula, Positano and Amalfi are all quite near this splendid house (150 square meters / 1560 square feet) situated in St. Agata on the two Gulfs, town between the gulf of Sorrento and the gulf of Amalfi.

The apartment stands in a gorgeous position, surrounded by green areas and just in front of the sea!

This spacious and luxury house is part of an old restored farm-house, surrounded by beautiful gardens and terraces, with a breathtaking view.

The independent entrance and the Jacuzzi in the private garden makes the property very exclusive.

Tastefully furnished, it has got two levels and can comfortably welcome up to 7 people.

The large balconies offer an astonishing view of the sea, painted with boats, ships and the typical “lamparas” at night. The two terraces, equipped with tables, chairs and deckchairs, are perfect for your relax and for your outside meals. Having breakfast or dinner in front of such a seascape is a unique experience, but keep in mind that nearby there is the refined and excellent “Don Alfonso”, a two Michelin stars restaurant!

The first floor has got three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en-suite with a sea facing shower), a large living-room, a well-equipped kitchen with all facilities as dishwasher, oven and microwave and a sunny, spacious terrace. From the terrace you can enjoy an absolute quietness and a stunning view at any time of the day and night, but you can also choose your relax in the Jacuzzi tub!

On the second floor with its original attic ceiling there are two single beds, a bathroom with a tub and a washing machine, and a terrace.

At the disposal of the guests there are free fast internet WI-FI throughout the house, a LCD Tv with foreign channels, a DVD player and dvds. The house also offers air conditioners, in a double bedroom, living room and on the second floor.

In addition to its gorgeous position and wonderful surroundings, the house, designed by an architect, is elegantly decorated with the colours and the materials typical of this sunny region and is completed with refined and exquisite furnishings.

A really luxurious, high quality residence, but at the same time so cosy, warm and comfortable that it makes you feel at home!

You could be tempted of enjoying only the house. Please, don't. Nerano, Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi are all waiting for you! Plus from Sorrento, which is only a ten-minute drive, you can easily sail to Capri and Ischia!

Sant’Agata takes its name from its marvellous position, 400 metres on the sea level between the Gulf of Sorrento and the Gulf of Salerno. It has always been chosen for its cool climate, its natural beauty, its location on the headland of the Sorrentine peninsula that makes it the ideal home base for excursions to Capri, Ischia, Procida, Pompei, Herculaneum, Naples and the Amalfi coast.

Visitors can choose between bathing in the crystal-clear water of the nearby Nerano or Massalubrense and walking along breathtaking paths where to enjoy wonderful views and just relax. The charming and picturesque tiny natural fiord of Crapolla with its minuscule beach can be reached on foot from Torca, a hamlet very close to Sant’Agata.

……but there is still so much to see and enjoy in this beautiful area!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just returned from a 7 night stay at this lovely home. The details in the decor and Italian tile immediately dazzle. There was only 3 of us but there is easily room for 2 couples, 2 couples with 2 kids, or a family of 5 or 6. The "orientation" by Roberta was wonderful, her and her father showed us around and showed us how everything worked. They have a book with maps, restaurant information, manual on appliances, and phone numbers, they also left us a phone so we could call them at no cost or call restaurants.

We loved that the living room was great room style with the kitchen, and dining room all open and looking at the lovely terrace that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Four rooms, three baths with showers (one with bath/shower) The town of Torca has a wonderful restaurant and Sant'agata also right up the road has many good restaurants and a large store. We cooked two nights and found the kitchen easy to navigate. To get daily bread or fruit we went to the teeny tiny store at the Torca town piazza. The parking is easy and convenient. The building houses four two story homes and this one has the largest terrace, and even has another patio off the second story.

I would not rent this house unless you plan to rent a car or if you will have a car and driver with you the whole time. We found driving easy, adventurous and fun. At this home you are close to everything. We drove the Amalfi Coast one day, spent a day in Sorrento, took the ferry to Capri one day, went to Pompeii one day, and spent one day on the beach at Marina Del Cantone. We also had one very rainy day that allowed us to relax and stay in. It is still off season there even though there seemed to be a lot of tourists, it will get busier and warmer. Some shops in Capri and along the Amalfi Coast close for off season along with a few restaurants. We loved that it was quieter at this time of year.

I also loved this place because there were extra blankets and linens. Wine, water and milk to get you started. And pepper, olive oil, and balsamic for cooking. This is truly a special place and I am so glad they have decided to share it.

We spend 6 days in this wonderful apartment. The pictures on the website does not do it

justice. The apartment was beyond our expectations. We especially enjoyed the views

from the terrace. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully equipped. Roberta the daughter of the owner met us at the apartment who inform us about the apartment and area. Since we did not have a car Roberta made arrangements for a car to pick us up at the train station in Sorrento to the apartment. From the center of town the road to the apartment is very narrow and steep. But throughout our stay to Sorrento we managed to get around without any problem. There is a bus stop in the center of town to Sorrento.

We took the train to Venice and enjoyed every minute.. You can also hire a driver for the day who will take you to other areas. All of the local people were very friendly and speak english. We truly enjoyed our vacation and Roberta was very kind and very helpful.

Wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

For us a perfect home for our vacation and visiting the sites around Sorrento. Fantastic view, very good facilities, very nice landlord, helpful tips to make the best of your time. Enough space for the 7 of us (four adults and three teenagers). Lovely restaurant nearby.

The only caveat: it is a bit challenging to drive with a van to the premises on the steep and narrow streets close to the apartment - but it is possible and of course this is southern Italy.

What a fantastic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We have just come back from a wonderful holiday in this beautiful house.

Everything was beyond our expectations.

The apartment is gorgeous, spacious, clean and well furnished, with unique Mediterranean details.

The view from the terrace is fantastic.

The site is peaceful, but Sorrento, Positano, Pompei are only a few miles away.

If you are looking for a place to relax with family and friends, this is the perfect choice.

Thanks for your warm welcome and for letting us share your enchanting property!

Very very very beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Hi Maria,

I want to thank you for the gorgeous stay we had at the Casale in the month of August. The house you rent has been just perfect for the six of us! Very cosy, well equipped and with a stunning view, it shows the refined taste and the high care of the owner. Furthermore its strategic location in Sant’Agata makes it an excellent starting point to visit all the jewels of both Costiera Sorrentina and Costiera Amalfitana. We’ll always keep in our heart the beautiful places we’ve visited as well as the pleasure of coming back home in the afternoon for a relaxing bath in the tub and dinner on the terrace watching the sea and the stars. We hope to be able to came back in the future.

God bless you

Roby

On the positive side the unit is immaculate. The view is wonderful and the deck is sunny and nice.

On the down side. We thought this was a "house". IT IS NOT A HOUSE. It is a condominium....bummer.

I had recent knee surgery and I would have liked to know that there were 30 stairs....yes 30. The "hydro-spa" ...hot tub took 4 days to heat up. It was ice cold when we arrived. So, for most of the week we spent there there was no usable hot tub. . The cool part is that this is out in the country which is nice. The down side is that parking is assigned. There is no other places to park except in someone else's spot. So when we told the owner that some one parked in our assigned spot she just said "park in some one else's spot. " This is an absentee owner. Still it worked out ok.

She also wanted 1/2 in cash and 400 euro for damage deposit. I don't like to have that much cash on me in a foreign country. Scarry. It worked out. The dishwasher cycled (ran) but never worked for us. So, dishes by hand. The toilet plugged...so I bought a plunger...no big deal.

So, in all it was still nice. I liked driving the crazy very very very narrow streets that is the only access others will will be frightened of the steep narrow roads. Often cars have to back into driveways and such to pass.

In the further recommendation She should use Paypal or some credit card exchange to avoid the large cash payment to strangers in the country issue. Heat the hot tub and turn the heat on before the gusts arrive at least when the nights are still cold.

Overall though, the unit was well provisioned. Like the extra blankets. ( the floor especially took several days to warm up...it was cold and the heater was marginal)

The access to the Almafi coast is good and the town "Torca" is friendly and the drivers are both in a frenetic hurry but courteous and patient in the inevitable traffic jams. I Do love the Italians and the small town brings out the best in their warm charm.

Great country

Owner's Response: Disingenuous and polemic tenant. In VRBO Keywords the house is defined as “apartment” (the word “villa” is never mentioned). The English dictionaries define the word house as a) a building that someone lives in b) place of abode. AN APARTMENT IS A HOUSE! Thanks to its being on the second floor the apartment can boast a beautiful view! There are 2 short stairs. The parking area is a common one as well as the flower-beds and the trees. So the single parking spots are never individual. They are assigned just for a mere question of convenience. I was not superficial when suggesting the tenant to park in any other spot in case the one assigned to us and been occupied by someone else by chance. As for the Jacuzzi, (it is a JACUZZI and not a hot tub!) water heats up according to the external temperature, that’s why it took so long at the end of March. The tenant also complains about the cold floor but the baked clay tiles never get warm, not even in summer! In fact they are typical and particularly indicated for sunny places, that’s why our architect chose them. As for the payment we do accept Paypal in case there are any problems with the bank transfer. As for the toilet which got plugged, I believe for an unfortunate accident, during the tenant’s stay he asked me for a specific tool which was not in the house since the problem had never occurred. He offered to get it himself, but anyway there are three bathrooms in the house. The dishwasher worked perfectly before the arrival of the renter as well as after his leaving. Maybe he didn’t read the instructions in English that we place at disposal for a correct use of electric appliances. And then, it’s true that the streets in Torca are narrow but this is a specific peculiarity of the small towns of the Sorrento and Amalfi peninsulas. I’ve always had kind, pleasant ant thankful feedbacks from my guests for a cosy and comfortable house which made them feel at home. Being defined “an absentee owner” is absolutely inconceivable! Furthermore I placed at the renters’ disposal a MOBILE, by which they can always call me at my expense….

The town of 'Sant’Agata on Two Gulfs' is located a few kilometres from Sorrento, on the top of a pleasant hill, in a privileged location from which you can have a lovely view over both the gulfs of Naples and Salerno.

It is considered one of the pearls of the area, and even during the “Grand Tour” this place was frequently visited.

From Casale di Torca you can reach the natural Fjord of Crapolla. In the past it was used as a port and now is a little fisherman’s village.
