Our two gites, Le Tournesol and La Petite Bessou, have been beautifully renovated and still retain the original 'brossage' stone walls and oak beams. They both sleep up to six guests and have 3 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms. They are tastefully and comfortably furnished and include all modern amenities. They have their own EXCLUSIVE full size swimming pools which can be floodlit. There are south facing sun terraces and patio areas for al fresco dining. They have large private gardens with plenty of space for children to play. A BBQ, sun loungers, cushions, games etc are provided. South facing with beautiful views over the rolling countryside, they stand in grounds of about a hectare, amid valleys and woods, a bird lover’s paradise. A very tranquil and private location. Both gites are spacious and very comfortable and offer excellent accommodation for families or couples

LE TOURNESOL (Sunflower) is a spacious barn conversion. A very private setting, with large gardens, a beautiful decked sun terrace and it’s own EXCLUSIVE swimming pool. The lounge/dining area (6mx 5.5m) features 'brossage' style stone walls, a beamed ceiling and triple French doors, which lead onto the south-facing patio. There is a twin bedroom on the ground floor. On the Upper Floor there is a double bedroom an en suite shower room with WC, a large twin bedroom and a second shower room with WC. The adjacent pool (9x5m) which is EXCLUSIVE for Le Tournesol can be floodlit. The first 4m are 1m in depth, allowing safe bathing for toddlers and non-swimmers. Children can be easily supervised from the large (9.5mx4m) separate decked area adjacent to the pool. Campsis and passionflower plants weave their way through the wood and bamboo pergola, which shade the eating area. Just behind the pool there is a small pine forest, which provides wonderful shade for those very hot days.

The region is very beautiful with lakes and rivers, forests and rolling hills, fields of sunflowers and maize, orchards of plum trees and walnuts. The gentle rolling countryside and near empty country lanes, paths, and bridleways offer ideal rambling and cycling conditions. There is excellent fishing and swimming in the lakes nearby and canoeing on the Dordogne and Lot rivers. Other local activities include golf, an Outward Bound Centre, horse riding,walking, tennis, boat trips and birdwatching. This beautiful region is a gourmets and wine-lover's paradise. Wine lovers in particular will enjoy the easy access of Bergerac, Monbazillac, Pécharmant, Duras, St. Emillion and Cahors with plenty of opportunity for ‘degustation’!!! The area is steeped in history with magnificent Chateaux, Bastide towns and painted caves. Breathtaking views will be discovered along the Dordogne River at Beynac, Domme and Roque Gageac or Pujols overlooking Villeneuve-sur-Lot.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rental rates for the Low Season are for 4-6 guests, however we are able to offer discounts for 2/3 guests staying a minimum of 3 nights.

    Change over day is a Saturday in Peak and High season. Other change over days and different lengths of stay are available during mid and low season.
  • There is a 25% deposit required when booking. Balance of holiday payment and refundable damage deposit of £100 are required 8 weeks before the commencement of your holiday.
  • There are no hidden extras; electricity, gas, hot water and all linen except towels are included in the cost of your stay. Towels can be provided by arrangement.

    Welcome brochure covering the local area, restaurants, ‘what’s on’ and tourist attractions.

    We provide a small arrival pack, which comprises of a bottle of wine, water, fruit and jam (made by Michael!!) If it would help you, we are happy to buy in for you some basic provisions for your first evening and breakfast.
