The ground floor of the main house has high vaulted ceilings, original features and fireplaces in a large open plan living area with several doors onto paved terraces around the house. There is a large inside dining area opening onto the large comfortable sitting room. The kitchen is modern, solid antique oak and fully equipped with modern appliances. There is an additional garden kitchen/ utility with washing machine and drinks fridge. The 3 bedrooms are all large and air-conditioned, 2 on the first floor in the main house a double and twin both en-suite and another double on the first floor of a self contained annexe with adjacent shower-room. The bedrooms are all furnished with bedside tables and reading lamps, chest of drawers and wardrobes. The gardens are terraced with olive and fruit trees. There are several paved areas with a built in barbeque and large swimming pool.

The Kaya valley is situated near the town of Fethiye and is famous for it's deserted Greek village, once know as Levissi where Greeks were repatriated from Turkey to Greece and also the subject of the book by Louis De Bernieres, Birds Without Wings. The valley is also close to ruins from the Lycian, Byzantine and Roman era's and also close to the beautiful and famous beach of Olu Deniz and the Island of St Nicholas at Gemiler beach. There are many walks in and around the area, well documented in books. The villa has commanding views over the valley to watch sunsets from the pool and terraces. There is always a cooling breeze over the valley during peak temperatures making the house cool and pleasant.

Notes: Cleaner comes in 5 days a week, mostly for light cleaning and then twice a week full clean with linen and towel change. The gardener and swimming pool person comes in every second morning, normally before the guests rise, to take care of pool and garden.

We went from April 25 till May 2 2009 to Tas Evi and we had a very, very good time there. The house is so beautiful en with all the luxery you need. The swimmingpool and serveral terraces are very well situated, you can relax in the sun or shade every time of the day. The garden with it lovely flowers is very well taken care of and also the pool is cleaned every day. So you live there in luxery with a magnificent view over the valley. Nearby there are some villages with the typical Turkisch touristic shops and restaurants, also nice to visit, just like the old town of Fethiye. So we had a perfect stay there! Also very pleasant for children (10 and 11 years).

The best villa by far

I have spent many years in many villas across all of Europe and this is by far the best villa I have ever stayed in. The owners, John & Louise live in the house during the winter months and they make improvements and renovations every year. The result is a magnificent original stone house with traditional Turkish touches but to a very well equipped standard, especially the kitchen. High vaulted ceilings an thick stone walls make this a very cool house even in peak season. A must if you are thinking of this most wonderful area.
