We have just had our 7th Visit!

Suzie and Arthur Kent, England
Review Submitted: June 8, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
This is the most perfect gite for a relaxing holiday and for people who love nature and the outdoors. The property is very well maintained and kept to a high standard. The owners live next door and will give you as much help and service as you want - they are truly lovely people. However, if you would sooner be left alone to enjoy your holiday they will respect your privacy. We have already visited 7 times and have booked another three visits in 2009/10! Once visited it would be difficult not to return!

It has the best of both worlds as it is very secluded but you do not have to drive far for the local amenities or to get onto the main road if you wish to visit further afield.

We have recommended this property before and will continue to do so.

La Porcherie - an enchanted cottage in a heavenly

Profbook Filey, North Yorkshire, UK.
Review Submitted: October 8, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We decided on La Porcherie after much looking but we kept getting drawn to this one. Now we know why. The converted barn is a beautifully clean, well decorated and comfortable haven with the most wonderful views over the Limousin countryside you could imagine. We were there for five weeks covering September 2008 and we had mostly beautiful weather. The owners Kim & Ken who live next door were the perfect hosts. They were always there if you needed them and were full of helpul information. We now consider them good friends. When we started the holiday we were hoping to move to the area, now we are back we are already making definite plans.

The Gite is close to Magnac Laval which is in easy reach of Le Dorat, a wonderful old french town and Bellac with it's shopping and beautiful views. Poitiers and Limoges are both within easy travelling with great shops and Futuroscope - a film based theme park near Poitiers is a must - the best day out I've ever had. The evening show is to die for.

I cannot recommend this too highly - it's simply perfect. I would suggest it's the ideal holiday and we have already booked another 5 weeks on 2009 in case we have not moved to the area by then.

La Porcherie is set in the heart of the countryside with a view that is straight from a picture. Peace and serenity rule. Kim and Ken make you most welcome and their dog Luca is an absolutely lovely friend - even if he won't let go of his ball for you. The ducks (on the two small lakes) and the chickens give a real farm atmosphere. The log burning stove was great on the few chilly evenings and added to the atmosphere.

In summary, wonderful place, wonderful people, great location - perfect holiday. Do it - you won't regret it.

Amazingly peaceful place

lindy two Bolton, Lancs, UK
Review Submitted: September 24, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
From the first night to the last day, Kim, Ken & Luca offered an unbelievable welcome and were so helpful with bookings and recommendations. Homely touches, such as coffee waiting on arrival and a can of coca cola for our teenage son in the fridge made our stay even better. The gite has everything that you require and them some ...!
The views are stunning in all weathers and the surrounding towns are worth a wander around. The only down side was that my husband could not fulfil his dream of starting up the log fire as the weather was too warm.
Having Luca to play fetch with- but we do not remember him letting go of the ball - added to our son's holiday enjoyment as well as the table tennis table, boules, badminton, ducks to feed etc...etc...
Thank you so much Kim & Ken for your hospitality and such a wonderful time and we will be back

Serenity

Thomas's Warwick
Review Submitted: July 30, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
If you want a complete get away from it all, then this is your place. It is so clean, spacious, everything you need for a 'home from home' and wonderful hosts. You can have solitude, but a short journey will take you to some of the most picturesque French villages, travelling through beautiful countryside, passing idilic lakes, and as you arrive back at ' Le Porcherie', you will be greeted by the serenity that hits you. Sit back, relax on the terrace a glass of wine in hand overlooking the valley as the sun goes down. A little bit of 'Heaven'.
