Restaurants:
There are a number of good restaurants serving quality food in the local area and in Limoges you will find a vast choice providing regional and foreign foods. In the restaurants the prices vary from 12euros to 35euros for table d'hote or à la carte. In our local auberges you will be treated to home-grown and bred produce and specialities of duck, fois gras, wild mushrooms, chestnuts and of course the Limousin beef and the Baronet lamb, all at a reasonable cost. In the locality we have a chateau serving the most wonderful gastronomic menu with fine wines to compliment the meal, a Hotel de France serving wondeful gastro and bistro meals, a pizzeria serving pizzas baked on the premises which also provides a take-away service and tabacs serving a quick moules et frites or oysters washed down with the local vin du pays. There is in fact something to suit everyone's taste and pocket, even a mobile 'fish and frites' van and you certainly won't be leaving any restaurant in France hungry!
Leisure facilities.:
In Chateauponsac there is an open-air swimming pool which is free for your use in July and August and close by there is the 800 acre lake at St. Pardoux with all the water sport facilities, motorised and otherwise. It also has man-made beaches for the sun-worshippers. Magnac Laval has a gymnasium and there are numerous horse riding establishments nearby. It is beautiful walking country with plenty of wildlife and green lanes for the cyclists and with an abundance of rivers and lakes it is ideal for the fishermen amongst you.
There is good shopping in Limoges and Poitiers and of course the historic sights.
There are chateaux, parcs and tranquil forests to enthral you. The views all around are stunning and provide inspiration for artists, photographers and birdwatchers and above all there is peace and tranquility.
The Limousin is nature in the raw and you will return to the hussle and bussle of life with renewed verve and vigour and you will return to experience it all over again.
