Located on the 6th floor of a building, in a pedestrian and quiet street in the Montorgueil district, this dreamlike apartment is perfect to discover Paris and it can accomodate up to 4 persons. Without lift but with very easy access! I am living the same flooor and my neighboors are 80's....
The apartment offers one bedroom and one very comfortable sofa bed. It has been completely renovated with a very modern fully fitted kitchen, very calm and completely equipped... A true piece of jewellery.
The location is great! The downsides are the property is up six flights of stairs, furniture is well worn, linens poor quality (nice towels would go a long way). The upstairs bed is very cramped in a small attic space. All that said, the upside is the location, very close to the metro and some fun shopping.
The apartment was clean, neat and as pictured on the website. Its on the 6th floor with no lift but we appreciated the daily exercise! The location was perfect, close to everything with a metro and RER station minutes away. A grocery store is around the corner with several cafes on the street below the apartment. The only negatives were the noise from the neighborhood cafes below, usually until 2 am. Also the owner left us a note in the bathroom requesting no toilet paper in the toilet. I'm sure older apartments like this have sensitive septic systems but this was a major inconvenience. I would recommend contacting the owner about this prior to renting. Otherwise, Paris is so beautiful and we really enjoyed our vacation.
My two adult daughters and I (ages 55, 32 & 24) stayed 4 nights in this apartment. Other than the six flights of stairs which was a challenge, it has a great location, closest to Etienne Marcel metro stop and also Les Halles (although too busy for my liking) and within walking distance to Notre Dame, the Louvre, grocery stores and restaurants. It is amazingly quiet with the windows closed and comfortably furnished, except for the dining chairs of plastic that "popped" when you stood up or came apart when you tried to move them. The sofa bed was unusual and I couldn't figure out how to fit the sheets on it so just laid them out. The loft bed is only one mattress on the floor that feels slightly slanted, but only one slept up there so managed. The loft was particularly warm, but the roof windows/vents do open slightly and there are a couple of small fans which helped. The kitchen and bathroom are microscopic, but adequate. We did not use the stove. The toilet can be temperamental so only one to two squares of toilet paper allowed per flush...and you have to provide your own paper goods. I left some for the next tenant as that was an inconvenience for us. Towels & sheets were okay and apartment was clean. Maxime, the owner, was quick to respond to a slow shower drain issue. We communicated by text/cell phone in English. Having read a prior post regarding some repair issues, I sent a text upon our arrival (he left a key for us so we never met) regarding several broken items I found. He suggested they were fine when he cleaned before our arrival, but I insisted that was not so and he accepted. My deposit was not refunded to my Visa within two days as he said would be, however when I contacted Maxime after arriving home, he apologized for the oversight and was responsive in returning it. I would recommend this apartment for location & price, if you don't mind six full flights of stairs, close quarters and providing your own paper goods.
Spent three nights in this wonderful location in Maxime's gorgeous apartment. A true Parisian experience. Yes, it is a long way up those stairs, but worth it. It is an amazing location for all the main attractions. Had a little problem with the electricity but Maxime came over and sorted it out as soon as he could. Very helpful! Would highly recommend.
This property is not as it seems,All furniture is very grubby towels and sheets were stained and old
No mattress protectors :(
apartment was generally clean but all this did not make up for dirty items...........very disappointing end to holiday but as we arrived late no other choice available.
Sofa bed is lounge and not comfortable at all
Would not recommend at all
I wanted to love this flat. The photos are accurate and the provided Mac computer came in handy. Maxime was a responsive host, bringing sheets for the sofa bed.
Our issue came down to location. This flat is near the Etienne Marcel metro stop, which is a lively location, but not what is pinned on the Homeaway map (nor near it.) Therefore, we were not in the neighborhood that we were expecting when we booked the flat.
To update from a previous review, a shower curtain has been installed in the bath. The weather got hot and humid on our last night, a fan would have useful (one is provided but it was used in the upstairs bedroom.)
In the middle of Paris and very close to the Louvre, The Marais, Montorgueil and Pompidou!
Everything is close by, shops, bar, restaurant, museum, etc.
