We were living here for 7 months and we can say that it is our home. It is a beautiful apartment.l, decorated with style and fully equiped. You have everything you need to be living like a parisien. The location is great, near groceries, boulangeries, and many supermarkets. The metro line is in less than 5 minutes walk distance.
Finally, Pascal and François are really friendly landlords and make your stay even better.
We recommend this apartment to any person who wants to know how a trully parisian lives. In addition, we recommend it to any couple for long stays.
This review is long, long overdue (sorry!), but I must say this apartment was an amazing experience. From the moment we walked in our host greeted us and was very friendly. He showed us all the unit's amenities and how everything worked. After that it was like home for us. The unit is cozy and comfy. The neighborhood was great. I hope to come back someday and would definitely stay here again. A great find in Paris, and surrounded by great cafes, cheese shops, and as most places just minutes from the public transportation. We totally loved it.
It was an authentic Parisian experience staying in the apartment as you can shop locally for pastries, fruit, fish or access the many cafes and restaurants nearby. Accessing the nearby Metro allowed us to see many parts of Paris. Apartment was light and bright with everything required for a week's stay including good WIFI, washing etc. Sofa bed and lift not ideal for tall or large people. Floor very squeaky.
A recommender!
We loved our stay here. Our flight came in very late and Pascal was very accommodating, staying up late to give us the run of the apartment. Everything there is very neat and orderly, there is a place for everything so cleaning up was a breeze. The place is cozy, but feels very spacious, we had more than enough room to store our luggage and camera gear (I'm a photographer).
The pull out bed was very easy to use and actually more comfortable than my bed at home, which was great. The area in the 9th is cool, everything you need is in walking distance, just outside the unit there is a bakery, a cafe, and a grocery store, very convenient. There is a pizza place across the street, I can't remember the name of it and google maps doesn't show it, I believe it is new, but it is the best pizza I've ever had.
The M12 metro line is a quick walk down the street, this line got us everywhere with minimal transfers. It is not a super busy metro line, which I liked. The Opera house is a short walk away, in fact the Louvre is about 30 min walk. I know that sounds like a lot, but we were just taking a stroll looking at the buildings and accidentally found ourselves there, thats how pleasant the walk was.
This unit was my first time ever using Home Away, and it was such a good experience that I don't think I would risk trying another place, I don't know if it is possible to have a smoother experience, and I certainly don't want to take the risk to find out. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Some of our colleagues were staying about 15min from us in the 10th, and they didn't have as nice of a place, they had to sit down while taking a shower while we had a wonderful full bathroom.
A thing to note, the floors are squeaky, pretty expected for an older building. But you can hear people above you walking around, so if you're a light sleeper and you like to sleep in, then you might be disappointed by that.
The place has Wifi, and I don't know if the listing mentions that it has an elevator, but its important to know that since the unit is on the 5th floor. The windows in the unit are really nice, I wish I had them back home. I don't know what else to say, I'd be surprised if anyone didn't enjoy their stay here.
It is located in a trendy Parisian district between Montmartre and the Opera House, close to the Galeries Lafayette and Le Printemps department stores. We are also 10 minutes away from the Eurostar and the Thalys train station.
The famous "Village Martyrs" has always been a food lover's paradise. You will find wonderful local shops with exclusive selections, as well as many restaurants where locals go.
The street is "pedestrian only" on Sunday mornings to enhance your food shopping experience.
