Traditional Manor house set in 6 acres of woodland, which comprises of ruins, springs and a grotto. We have a huge brand new in ground swimming pool, along with automatic safety cover. The land has over 50 mature fruit trees all of which are there for you to enjoy. With all home comforts, something for all the family, we have a boules court, an 18 foot trampoline, the younger members of the family can feed the chickens and pet the rabbits. For those who prefer the indoors, we offer a large selection of videos and Dvds. 15 minutes walk away or only one minute drive, in the local village there is a free tennis court. There is a large brick built BBQ, and a sand pit for the children. Our 6 acres of land is surrounded by a further 30 acres of wonderful woodland, where you will often see deer. The public foot paths, lead to a 14th century church. You deserve a treat, so thoroughly indulge yourselves at La Taillade. NO NEIGHBOURS, NO TRAFFIC, COMPLETELY PRIVATE FOR YOUR USE ONLY!

Relaxing & peaceful yet only ten minutes from the Bastide village of Penne d' Agenais with its weekly markets, wonderful restaurants and bars, on top of the river Lot, and just 40 mins from Bergerac airport. The area boasts picturesque chateaux and hilltop villages with winding rivers and unspoilt countryside. It is an ideal location for canoeing, fishing, horse riding, walking, cycling, bird watching and golf. A large supermarket is located less than 10 kms away and a small grocery store less than 3 kms away.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A £500 security deposit will be taken, this will be returned at the end of your stay, minus any damages or cleaning charges. If cleaning is required, it will be charged at £100.
    £20 per person, including children, will be deducted at the end of your stay, this includes linen and towels.
    The telephone needs to be pre-booked please.
  • Payment to be paid in full 8 weeks prior to your holiday.
    Please do not arrive earlier than 16.00hrs and leave no later than 10.00 on departure day.
  • Rates are for the exclusive use of the house, grounds, swimming pool, trampoline and boules court along with 6 acres of woodland, grotto and spring. Towels and bedlinen, electricity are all included. Daily maid service and baby sitting charged as extra.
    The house is available for groups - we welcome groups of walkers, golfers, cyclists, painters, photographers, and our grounds cater for those who meditate, with volcanic rock and areas for relaxation.

Our rustic fully equipped country house : This beautiful house is set in the most magical grounds, it will enchant you with its feeling of peace and tranquility, when you walk through the purpose made paths into the woods you won't believe that in just ten minutes (by car) you could be in a wonderful bastide village of Penne d'agenais.

Additional services provided at extra cost. An escort from Bergerac or Toulouse to the property can be arranged. Essentials such as bread, milk eggs, wine/beer, and any items on your shopping list can be provided for your arrival. Please pre-book this when booking.

Visitors comments written in our visitors book 2007 What a lovely big house. Loved the grounds andthe peace and quiet. Lots of wildlife to spot early mornings. Sorry to be leaving, we have had a wonderful time, the weather had been terrific, so lots of time by the pool, and BBQ's all very relaxing. A lovely house in a lovely part of the world, holiday memories we will cherish forever, thanks for making us feel welcome. Lovely part of France, excellent local vineyards and local markets we will be returning again next year. 2008 We would come again anddefinately recomment it forits peace and tranquility, relaxation a perfect place to bring your family. We have had anamazing two weeks and would love to stay longer, and hope to be back next year. Thankyou for the loan of your beautiful house, garden and pool, children safe and free to roam and have fun. First time away from sea and sand, but I can honestly say this has been a fantastic holiday and hope to be back soon.

Golf: The Golf facilities is Villeneuve sur lot are fantastic it can be reached in 25 mins by car. Lots of our guests have used the course and recommend it.

Other Activities: Private 18 foot trampoline, boules court and Walibi Parc, nature land, buffalo grill, hire your own boat 10 mins away.

fantastic hidaway

We had a geat time. The house was perfect for our party of 12. Eleven adults aged 19 to 80 and one one child 4. Furniture and accommodation was lovely and spacious. The pool was definitely a great bonus. it was important to us to have good space as it meant that no one was under anyone elses feet and the amount of little nooks where one could go and read in perfect seclusion was good and somewhat necessary when you have a group such as ours. We had a vegetarian in our ranks and the freshly laid eggs were most welcome from the hens that run around outside. The owners are so friendly and made us most welcome. The experience was one that we will no doubt repeat. I would have no hesitation recommending this property to anyone.

A Beautiful Peaceful Holiday

We were a family group, 2 grandparents, 6 parents and 7 children aged from 16 to 3 and we all fitted in very comfortably. Debbie & Steve and family were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. We found the house lovely and clean. the location is beautiful and very peaceful and the facilities, i.e. pool, boules, trampoline etc were excellent and just as described on the web-site. We so enjoyed the peace that we never got round to going out apart from shopping and a visit to the local tennis courts. We did drive through a couple of the local villages on the way out which were very pretty and worth a longer visit. Everyone said they hah had a great time and our only regret was that we hadn't stayed for longer.

have just returned from a two week stay with my sister and family from this beautiful house.Everything you could wish for is there.So much space in the house and all around the property so very safe for children to enjoy, especially the pool had great fun in there. From a womens point of view beautiful country kitchen with all the pots and pans and dishes you could ever need.Thank you Steve Debbie and your delightful children for letting us enjoy your home. But how you leave it i will never know. Hope to see you next year. Love to you all. Christine xx

What a lovely big comfortable house, loved the grounds peace and tranquility, lots to see and plenty to do.
Sorry to be leaving, lots of time by the pool and BBQs in the evenings very relaxing.
The salt water swimming pool in the best we have used wonderful covered terrace for alfresco eating with the sun all day and all evening.
Debbie and Steve are one of the nicest couples we have met, making us feel most welcome, see you next year.
A lovely house in a lovely part of the world, holiday memories we will cherish forever, thanks for making us feel most welcome.
Beautiful surroundings lovely part of France - excellent local vineyards and local markets.
