Dream farmhouse set in 11 acres of farmland just 7KM from Mahon and 5KM to the nearest beach, this magnificent 200 year old farmhouse has stunning views from every window. One of the best houses on the island this is luxury living, with its 12m pool, tennis court, self contained apartment and beautiful gardens. This is the perfect family holiday home where tranquility is assured yet it is within easy reach of the magificent harbour of Mahon with its bars, restaurants and shops. The house can be rented with or without the apartment and the apartment is never let separately from the house, ensuring total privacy. The house and its location make it ideal for all ages, for little ones playing safely round the house or playing on the beach of Es Grau, teenagers who want the night life of the port and adults who want relaxation and fun. Central heating ensures a cozy warmth in the winter months making it an ideal rural escape in the quiet season such as Christmas and the New Year.

The property is decorated to a very high standard, yet simply. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room with double sink unit, a second double bedroom with en suite shower, two twin bedded rooms with shared bathroom. On the first floor there is a laundry room with washing machine and there is a study area. On the ground floor is a large living room with white sofas with a games room leading off it. The kitchen area has a small dining table which seats six. It is a very well equipped kitchen suitable for entertainment cooking. The main feature of the house is the covered terrace which overlooks the pool and the garden with a large dining table which can seat up to 14 people and a large serving table and gas barbecue. There is an area for relaxed seating. The apartment has a double bedroom with shower and a twin bedded room with bathroom. It opens on to the garden and is has easy access to the house. There is a pool house with shower/loo.

We fell in love with the property because it is so full of character and history. At one time it had been a school for the local children in the valley then it was a fruit farm, growing the first strawberries on the island in the '70s.

This property is unique in that it is in the countryside yet close to Mahon so it doesn't feel isolated yet it is peaceful (except for the bird song and the occasional donkey braying). So, it is easy to pop into Mahon for a coffee and enseimada in the mornings whilst going to get fresh fish from the market for lunch or dinner.

Sehr exakt beschriebene Anfahrt zu ca. 7 km vom Hafen Mahon liegendem großen Anwesen. Extrem ruhige, grüne Umgebung, mit sehr viel Geschmack gestaltetes großes Anwesen. Viele liebe Details innen und außen, die man mit Muße genießen sollte. Selbst wir als eifrige 12-Personen-Wandergruppe haben sehr gern 2 halbe Tage im/am Haus zugebracht! Von der großen Terasse bei Kaffee, Tee, Wein u.ä. schöner Blick ins Land.

Sehr interessantes internationales Visitor's Book im mit vielen Spielen bestücktem Klubraum. Viele Dutzend guter Music CDs und gute Anlage, viele Bücher in Englisch.

Die 4-Personen-Ferienwohnung zusätzlich zum 8-Personen-Haus im Parterre-Anbau ist ideal für Senioren bzw. Familien mit Kindern, komplett eingerichtet mit schöner Küche, total unabhängig vom großen Haus.

Der Pool inkl. Pool-Haus ist sehr schön und auch bei voller Belegung sehr gut ausreichend.

Alle technischen Dinge haben perfekt funktioniert, insbesondere die Küche. Grundausstattung an Gewürzen, Tees und Reinigungsmitteln ist vorhanden, Bettwäsche und Handtücher tipptopp.

Wir können dieses große Anwesen mit bestem Gewissen weiterempfehlen und haben uns dort 1 Woche sehr sehr wohl gefühlt.

OUTSTANDING PROPERTY - LOVINGLY MAINTAINED

This beautiful villa exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal, set amonst farmland yet convenient for Mahon. The layout is perfect for a large group, with plenty of space both indoors and outside on the terrace. The rooms are comfortably furnished, with excellent facilities - this feels more like a family home than a rented property. I would certainly recommend Villa Santa Maria to friends, though frankly would prefer to keep this one a secret.

FANTASTIC RETREAT

It is hard to find anything negative to say about Sta Maria. We (6 adults and 4 children) recently stayed at this property, renting both the farmhouse and apartment and in every respect our expectations were exceeded. It was spotless on arrival and is beautifully laid out and decorated with everything you could need catered for. With 4 children under 4 and 2 of them under 2, the pool is fantastic with large steps, allowing for lots of safe splashing and paddling, and the pool house with toilet facilities and a small kitchen and fridge were added bonuses. The gardens are fantastically cared for and really add to the overall experience and the tennis court was well utilised. There is a real homely, yet still Spanish rustic feel and plenty of space to cater for 10+ people without feeling remotely cramped.

The location is extremely convenient, but you do need a car. Only 20 minutes from Mahon airport and a 5-10 minute drive to the nearest beach. One of our concerns had been noise from the planes, but it is virtually non-existent.

The owner was extremely accommodating to all our requirements, providing additional high chairs and cots and allowing us to book an additional day to fit in with flights. Small touches, such as calling on arrival to check that we had everything we needed were very much appreciated.

As a group, we have had numerous villa/house rental holidays, but Sta Maria really steals the show. I would highly recommend this property for families with children or those just looking for a peaceful retreat. It was a unanimous decision that we would all love to go back at some point.

LATE OCTOBER SUNSHINE

Our party of eight (two families of four, all kids 11 or younger) thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sta. Maria in late October. Internally Sta. Maria is spacious and stylishly decorated. But it is also homely - and never loses the essential integrity of what is, after all, a period Spanish farmhouse.

The whole house is extremely well equipped. The kids were in the good sized pool every day (the pool house has additional kitchen facilities should the half dozen steps back to the house feel a little too much like hard work) - though in late October the sea was actually warmer. There is everything any aspiring El Bulli chef could want in the kitchen while there are also board games galore for family entertainment should the weather not be kind (no TV - I am delighted to say). We were also frequent users of the tennis court.

The location is rural without being isolated - surrounded by farmland but barely 15 minutes drive from the airport and 10 minutes from the centre of Mahon. Indeed, one of the major attractions of Menorca is that nowhere is more than 50 minutes drive and there are a plethora of excellent beaches on the South coast 25 minutes drive from Sta Maria.

All in all Sta. Maria is a fabulous venue for a family holiday.

FABULOUS VILLA IN MAGICAL SETTING

We honestly can't find anything bad to say about this wonderful place. From a practical point of view it's excellent - well equipped, spacious, lovely rooms, great pool and tennis court. We took our whole family (from 18 months to 62) and we all had a ball. But what makes it so very special is its charm and tranquillity making it by far the loveliest place we've ever stayed in. It was hard to leave but if we can we'll certainly return.

Set in farmland in a valley about 6.5 kms from Mahon off the road north to Fornells. Surrounded by fields, with pretty farmhouses in the distance, the property has a sense of peace without feeling remote.

Golf: The Son Parc Golf Club is a 15 minute drive from the house. It is an 18 hole course and fairly challenging. Facilities include a golf range, putting and pitching greens, professional teaching. The lovely beach of Son Parc is very close.
