Photos and Description of the Maine-et-Loire vacation cottage rental A delightful gite complex with 5 gites sleeping 2 - 9 in the heart of the Loire.

La Roultiere is a fabulously tranquil spot in the heart of the Loire Valley. Its gites offer the perfect flexibility to holiday as a couple, as a family, with friends or as a group with a special interest. With its acres of fields, and long ranging views, you'll be struck by the quietness. Organically run, the wildlife and bird life here is fantastic; rare butterflies and migrating birds have been recorded! The perfect place to relax, read, paint, or sunbath by the lovely pool. Children are welcome and the space gives them the freedom and safety to play with gusto! During the school holidays there are always other children around create adventures or play in the large sandpit's. (Which means you parents are off the hook when it comes to entertainment) Meals can be prepared by request and table d'hotes meals, and social evenings are frequently organised by the hosts Gill and Phil. Bikes are available to hire to explore the perfect cycling countryside, and pretty villages and vineyards.

La Veranda at La Roultiere is our largest family sized gite with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, with a newly fitted large kitchen breakfast room for the 2008 season. The lounge is nicely proportioned with plenty of sofas and chairs. Stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor. All four bedrooms with one bathroom is on the first floor whilst the second bathroom is conveniently situated on the ground floor. The gite has a beautiful west facing logia providing a further 30m2 of living area yet outside and in the shade. It is also the entrance to the gite and overlooks the pretty garden and herb beds. A large stone barbeque is available by the logia for catering for large groups. There is ample outside garden furniture as well.

Equidistance between Tours, Angers and Le Mans, La Roultiere is ideally placed for visiting the chateaux of the Loire and the Loir, and experiencing the motor-history and events of Le Mans. One kilometre away is the pretty chateau village of Breil, with its full time gardener the flower displays are lovely. Breil has a wonderful boulangerie, perfect for your morning croissants and daily baguettes (but do try the pain au raisan also). But get there early, Nellie's pastries are famous! The small market town of Noyant is a 5 minute drive, and it has a good supermarket, all the banks and cash machines, and pharmacies also. The vineyards of Bourguiel are a 20minute car journey, or take a bike and meander through the vineyards and visit the towns fantastic Tuesday farmers market. The historic town of Saumur is a 25 minute drive and there you can visit the famous 'Cadre Noir', the caverlry school of France. This gentile town has a bustling Saturday market, boutiques and good restaurants.

The pool area: Children under the age of 16 must be supervised in the pool area for the safety of all the guests staying at La Roultiere.
