Studio apartment, sleeps 4 persons with 1 bathroom

The apartment is a private holiday home situated in Charvet village of Arcs 1800 and fully equipped for four persons, especially suitable for a family group but NOT four persons of the same gender due to the sleeping arrangements. There are two bunk beds in the hall alcove and a sofa double bed in the lounge. The bathroom has a bath/shower with wash basin and toilet. Fully equipped kitchenette with fridge, three electric hobs, oven/grill, microwave oven, toaster, coffee percolator, electric kettle etc. The lounge has a sofa bed, dining table and chairs. The balcony has north east views towards Arcs 1600 and in the further distance, the Isere valley and mountains towards Italy. In all, the apartment and balcony measures approximately 32 square metres. The skiing area is accessed by taking the apartment lift to the top floor followed by a short walk along a covered walkway with a short flight of ski steps to the snow.

Linen and towels: Guests are asked to provide their own towels and tea towels. Guests will also need their own sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers. Pillows and duvets are provided.

Travel- Road: By Car: Motorway through France to Albertville, dual carriageway to Moutiers and then RN to Bourg St Maurice. A wide mountain road then leads directly up to Les Arcs 1800 where there is ample free outside parking or paid inside parking. The mountain road is regularly kept clear of snow but chains or four wheel drive are essential. The alternative is to leave your car in Bourg St Maurice at the foot of the mountain and take the funicular railway up to the resort.

Travel - Rail and Air: Trains run from the UK direct to Bourg St Maurice from where you can either take a taxi or the funicular railway up the mountain.

The resort is served by Lyon, Grenoble, Chambery or Geneva airports. The airport websites will give details of onward transfers to Les Arcs.

In February 2008 we stayed in the apartment as a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly suprised by the good standard of apartment and its excellent location.
I have previously stayed in many ski apartments but this was deceptively spacious, and as it was privately owned was better equipped with home comforts than I have found else where.
The apartment is about 400 meters from the main resort lifts and you only have to walk about 100 metres to a point where you can put on your skis/board and glide down to the lifts.
The resort with its good restuarants and bars was within easy walking distance.
The booking of the apartment was very smooth with the owner providing information on the resort and good directions by all form of transport. We flew to Chambery and hired a car and found it a very easy route to follow.
The price of the partment was very reasonable compared with others specially as we went in the peak time of half term. I was expecting the slopes to be crammed with kids and queues for the lifts, but the exact opposite was in fact the case.
I have no hesitation in recomending this apartment and we may look to book again in the low season as 2 couples for a cheap weeks skiing

A great time

We really had a great time, and having the key with us when we arrived was so convenient, as we could just go straight in after the long journey. We arrived about 8.20pm so all the shops were shut, but the previous occupants had left some milk, which along with the tea/coffee meant we could have a lovely cuppa, which was perfect.

The apartment is lovely and so cosy, we were shocked by our own house when we got home as it had been particularly cold here! It’s also so conveniently placed, no moans from the children about walking in their ski boots. They did really well in ski school and the instructor passed them their Flocon and 1 Etoile so they were really chuffed. Our son Luke even had a go at the ski jump next to Chantel lift on the Thurs.

Anyway, thanks for all your help with the booking, we hope to be back.

A lovely Apartment

A lovely apartment in a well located block offering great views over
the valley. The apartment is on the quiet side of the lift, where it
avoids the hordes of keen skiers stomping past the door to be the
first on the slopes, and the block is conveniently located without
being in the noisy thick of it. There is a good variety of
restaurants under the apartment block, including a Mexican that was
favoured by the children and an irresistible chocolaterie offering hot
milk to melt your choice of chocolate into.

The apartment is perfectly equipped will all the necessary cooking
appliance for those that want to stay in and cook. The only thing
missing from the apartment is internet – but that’s not a bad thing
when you are avoiding work!

There is enough room in this well planed apartment to accommodate all
the wet skies and boots etc.

Overall a great apartment, in a great location, that does exactly what
you want it to do.

the apartment was easy to find from the instructions sent with the key, and as promised was very close to the slopes and ski village - so you're not too far from the bars and restaurants.
The apartment was like a home from home - it had everything we needed from kitchen essentials, to duvets, pillows etc... very welcoming. Warm, clean and well equipped - with a lovely big bath for warming up after boarding all day.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone, it is exceptional good value especially for Les Arcs which can be quite expensive, and was very well looked after and comfortable.
So all in all, great apartment, great resort, great holiday!

The apartment is situated in Residence Pierra Menta at Charvet village in Arcs 1800. The apartment is close to the 'village square' with its many shops and restaurants. These include supermarkets, bakers, delicatessen and butcher. There are plenty of ski-hire shops and even a cinema.

Ski: The apartment is well placed for easy access to the pistes and lifts. The flat is on level nine and apartment lifts will take you to level eleven. From there a short walk and one flights of stairs takes you to the snow. After a gentle downhill glide, a six man chairlift will take you further up the mountain. At the end of the day you are able to ski back to where you started in the morning, conditions permitting.

Les Arcs comprises of four centres 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000. All centres are interlinked by an efficient lift system that can carry over 85000 people per hour. There are over 121 ski runs measuring over 200 kms.

In addition, there is a gondola link to La Plagne and the 'Paradiski' ski pass covers over 400 kms of marked pistes, surely enough for anyone!

SUMMER - In July and August a number of ski lifts operate to take walkers and cyclists up the mountains. There are over 40 activities on offer including golf, swimming, white water rafting and tennis.

  • These costs are for the apartment and include all power, heating and hot water. Sometimes we can accommodate guests for longer than a week (eg ten days) in which case we merely charge pro-rata to the published rates.
  • The rental rates reflect the fact that we expect our guests to clean the apartment at the end of their stay. We do NOT employ professional cleaners as in our experience, the cleaning is often below standard. Therefore, cleaning at the end of your stay is essential as the apartment must be left in the condition you would expect to find it.
  • If the booking is made more than 6 weeks in advance of rental period a deposit of 25% of rent will be required. Within six weeks of departure the full rental is payable plus a key/security deposit for each letting that will be repaid upon return of the key and confirmation of no breakages. If any item is broken we expect it to be replaced at the resort but if this is not possible an agreed sum will be deducted from your security deposit.
    The apartment is a no smoking/no pets area.
