San Feliu de Guixols Vacation Rental house

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday in this property, while it poured with rain in England St. Feliu had the most glorious weather. The property is modern with all convenieces, spacious and well laid out; it stands on the edge of a small and exclusive complex which has the added benefit of an outdoor pool; which althoug chilly was a relief on a hot summers day.
The property is managed by a great team who answered our every call whatever time of day and sorted out a couple of teething problems with appliances in the villa. They were also - at a very reasonable rate - able to offer us the service of a direct transfer from Girona airport which is a short drive away. They were also a mine of information regarding local bars and restuarants and all of their reccommendations turned out to be good.
The town itself is thankfully still very Spanish, even in high season we noticed very few other English tourists in the area, luckily all shops, bars etc. we frequented seemed to normally have a proficient english speaker in their staff, so we found not having a great Spanish vocabulary no hinderence to an enjoyable holiday. Although not a large town their is a good variety of shops which would cater for most tastes, and a lot of variety in the menus offered by the bars and cafes; but do NOT expect fish and chips shops and burger bars, these thankfully haven't made an appearance yet, but are readily available in the more English orientated resorts. I would like to point out that the walk back to the villa from town although not far is up an extremly steep hill probably of 800m, ok if you are fit but wouldn't recommend if you had very young children or were having to take a buggy. We didn't have the benefit of a car, but this would obviously elieviate the problem.
If you like Spain for what it is I would seriously reccommend this small town for a break, the beach itself which runs along the town front is quite narrow, but if you get a good spot is lovely, shallow and safe and away from open waters. The beach is also cleaned every night.
All in all I can reccomend the town, villa and definately the property managers for a great time, we took two adults, 1 of 19 and 4 aged between 16 - 9, and we all had a great time. Definately a place to relax. If you want noisy bars, lager louts and fry ups this place isn't for you!
