Words just don't describe this breath taking pocket of Tuscany!
Villa Massetto is equipped with everything you could possibly need, without losing that Tuscan charm. We travelled as a group of 8 which was perfect, breakfast on the sun terrace, lunch on the pool terrace with pizza cooked in the pizza oven (dough bought from the co-op, not worth making your own for 2€) and eaten on the main terrace looking out over the valley below. Pool great, tennis amazing, my snooker average, and sky TV a guilty pleasure.
Castellina boasts a great pizzeria, but the traditional restaurant La Piazza (just 10 mins away) must be visited - simply amazing!!!!!!!
That said the local produce and great local wine makes cooking and staying in a real pleasure. I strongly recommend making the trip to the Co-op in Poggibonssi as it is far superior and MUCH cheaper than the local store in Castellina.
The villa is well equipped with books and games to help keep every visitor occupied.
My recommendations are to pack your sun tan lotion and to ensure you have lots of memory space on your camera, your going to need it!
