The 6 apartments are built into the south facing wing of a 17th century Italian Villa and 400 acre working arable farm called Palazzo Rosso (the Red Palace). The 400 year old building has just been completely and lovingly restored, retaining all original features, beams, solid stone walls, fireplaces etc. There is a 300 square metre 10 metre high beamed barn for guest use, paved with local stone. A 13.5x6 metre pool was installed in the spring 2008. There are extensive gardens for guests on both sides of the building, as well as an orchard and courtyard animals (horse, ponies, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits and dogs).
The building faces south and has views out over our farmland, with a river and the Colli Berici hills to the west side, the Villa courtyard garden to the north side and our 15 acres of Vineyards to the east.
Places to visit: The historic town Vicenza is only 17km from the farm & there is a cycle track to the centre for approximately 9km. The Berici hills are only 2km from the farm, where there are many hiking & biking tracks as well as an area famous for climbing called Lumignano. The spa towns of Abano & Montegrotto Terme are only 25km away.
Further afield: Venice is 65km which is a one hour drive away, or a one hour train ride from Vicenza. Verona is 65km which is a one hour drive away, Padova 30km which is a half an hour drive away. Lake Garda is 100km way & easily accessible by motorway. The Altopiano of Asiago & skiing at 2000m are only 70km away. Florence is a two & a half hour drive away
More Information about the property: The apartments can all be rented separately or together for larger groups.

Hi I am Phil. My wife Silvy and I have owned and managed our 400 acre farm since 1992 when I moved to Italy from the UK. We started to rent out one apartment in 2002 and enjoyed having people around so much that we decided to restore a huge old 17th century barn and farm house which we turned into 6 holiday rental apartments.
Philip Frankland purchased this farmhouse in 1991
We were lucky enough to inherit Palazzo Rosso Farm from my wife Silvy's family.
Our guests love to come and stay at Palazzo Rosso because they can enjoy the benefits of being close to many beautiful places such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Mantova and Vicenza and at the same time when they want to relax they can sit back and enjoy the farm location and beautiful surroundings at Palazzo Rosso.
Palazzo Rosso is amazing! Phil & Silvy did an amazing job restoring these historic apartments. All the amenities were extremely comfortable and our hosts were very warm and gracious, making sure we felt at home. The property itself was beautiful with amazing vistas of bucolic farmland and mountains. The central location worked as a great location for us during our 9 day stay in January. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks again Phil & Silvy!
Its just like the painting you see of the peaceful farm with rolling grapevines, it has the most beautiful mornings. The most amazing windows in each room. Each one paints a scenery of the outside. The owners are very hospitable and provided us with fresh eggs in the mornings and sometimes sweet plumbs. We will for sure return.
Our family of five had a lovely time here for six nights. We made good use of the pool, table tennis, table soccer, BBQ and bikes as well as exploring Venice, Vicenza and Verona. It has been our favourite place in our six week European holiday. The hosts are delightful - Sylvie even left fresh eggs most days for use. Everything was beautiful, no complaints.
My husband and I along with a couple of friends stayed at the Palazzo Rosso for one week. We were all so impressed by the cleanliness and location of the villa (nestled between very quaint towns that are accessible by bicycles that the Villa provides). The apt we stayed in was complete in providing the necessary day to day items we needed for a "home away from home". Our host Phil and Sylvy were aways available to give us information about local attractions and the directions to get us there...as well as recommending nice, clean restraurants within the vicinity. We will forever be thankful for telling us about the local wine cantina (about 1 mile away from the villa) -- a definite MUST for tourists and wine lovers to see! This has THE perfect location: 45 minutes from Venice, 50 minutes from Verona, 1 hour away from 2 lovely beaches and 1 hour from Lake Garda. What more can you ask for? Needless to say, my husband and I will be making a trip back there soon...it truly is like having another "home" in italy.
We (a family with 3 grown-ups) stayed for a week in the first week of april. The location was outstanding. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and there was everything you need for a fine holiday. Phil and Silvy were very helpfully and fix everything in a minute.
Comfortable, washing machine, good beds, complete kitchen.
Wireless LAN, Table tennis with a new net, bikes for everyone, wine. The pool was open for those who were brave enough.
Nice surroundings,we enjoyed a bike trip into the beautiful hills with fabulous palazzi.
The Villa Palazzo Rosso is located near the village of Longare, in the hamlet of 'Ponte di Lumignano' at the foot of the Berici Hills (400 meters high). The local area is perfect for hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. There are many local restaurants and wine producers where guests can enjoy the fantastic local dishes & taste the local wine. There is a cycle track which starts in Longare and winds all the way to the centre of Vicenza (14 kms).
There are many famous Palladian villas in the area which people from all over the world come to visit.
Palazzo Rosso Farm is a perfect starting point from which to visit all of the most famous historic cities such as Venice, Verona, Padova, Vicenza, Mantova, Ferrara as well as Bassano, Marostica and Asolo. All of these locations are well within and hours drive from the farm.
Other local attractions which our guests enjoy include wine tasting in the many local wine cellars, a Grana Padana cheese factory and shop and a local organic Olive oil prooducer.
Other Activities: Rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking in the 400 metre high Colli Berici hills
