La Vigie is situated approx 1500 feet above sea level in the charming village of Magagnosc. Having the benefit of being completely renovated in 2006 it boasts two apartments. Each apartment is approached by a separate entrance and are both on their own ground level. The apartments can be booked together or individually thereby offering economical accommodation! La Vigie has the most amazing views towards the sea (due south), the mountains to the west and Grasse. La Vigie is only 16 miles from Nice airport and the coast. Surrounded by unbelievable country side, mountains, a gorge & stunning Cote d' Azur beaches are within easy reach. Ideal for chilling out, mountain biking, cycling, walking, golfing, shopping, beaches, paragliding, exploring medieval villages and towns. La Vigie is close to Grasse, Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo, St Tropez , Italy (approx 90 min). You can even ski in the Alps north of La Vigie! For those who have not visited this part of France it's a very special place.

Apartment 2 has two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a 1800 mm (approximately 6') wide bed and an en suite shower room. This shower room has a 2000 mm by 1000 mm walk in shower with Perrin and Rowe shower. This shower room has a side access door to the swimming pool area. The second bedroom has a 1500 mm (approximately 5') wide bed. The bathroom includes a full size bath and shower facility, Mark Wilkinson Vanity unit and WC. The central Kitchen and living room is fully equipped with oven, microwave, built in steamer, ceramic hob, stainless steel and glass extractor, dishwasher, washing machine and drier. All appliances are Miele and the kitchen is by Mark Wilkinson Furniture. As with apartment 1 this kitchen is completed with a granite worktop.

One mile from Chateauneuf, La Vigie is south facing and situated in the Alpes Maritimes. The land falls away towards Grasse le Plan to the south and steeply to the north to the top of the hill (approx 300 feet above).4 miles from Grasse. The Loup Valley is 1 - 2 miles away with the beautiful Loup Gorge, and villages Bar sur Loup, Tourettes sur Loup are close by. Gourdon with its unbelievable views is 3 miles away and the ever popular Valbonne is less than 8 miles. The country side is a mixture of Mountains, valleys, medieval villages, water falls, rivers and is heavily populated with Olive trees. Other species cover the mountain sides and valleys below. Further North the mountains become bleak and rugged. To the south the mountains run to the sea. The area is serviced by superb golf courses. Motorists are used to cyclists as the French enjoy their national sport here and throughout this beautiful region.

As with all the shower rooms in the house the furniture is by Mark Wilkinson and the brass ware by Perrin and Rowe.

There is a wonderful view from these door looking towards Grasse. This bedroom includes a Relyon metal framed 1800 mm (approximately 6') wide bed. The second bedroom includes a 1500 (approximately 5') mm wide Relyon metal framed bed. Great view from the bedroom and a side door to the east side of the apartment. There is another double sofa bed to the living room. (There 3 double sofa beds in the two apartments.)

Notes: As both apartments are reached by steps they are unsuitable for wheelchair access. There are three dedicated car parking spaces on the road above the property. La Vigie is near the centre of the village of Magagnosc. The village has several typically french bars, boulangeries, a delicatessen, two paper shops, tabacs, a supermarket, a Chinese, and two Italian restaurants. All are in walking distance of La Vigie. Above the property is a go-cart track (2 - 3 miles away). There is a railway station in Grasse that connects with Cannes and then Nice, Monaco, the coast and then Italy!

Have just returned from a fantastic two weeks with La Vigie as a brilliant base. The property was extremely well appointed with wonderful bathrooms and kitchen. In addition the terrace had lovely views and the pool although not huge was very refreshing. The location was brilliant,situated between the mountains and beautiful hilltop villages and the coast. Although the coastline was very busy at the height of the season, the area to the east of Nice was quieter and more peaceful. We particularly liked the hilltop village of Tourettes sur Loup and the restaurant, L'epicerie was a firm favourite with live music in the square each Thursday.The owners of the property provided useful information and were very helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.
