Grenada Vacation Rental apartment: Morne Rouge

I have just spent two weeks at this condo with my wife and 8 month old baby. It was absolutely perfect for a family holiday with plenty of space in the bedrooms and a fantastic outside deck where we spent many of our evenings sipping cold carib beers and just winding down. The outdoor shower was great when you returned home from the beach or a hot morning run for an instant cool down.

However, the hidden gem here is Adris who cleans and looks after the property and was a fantastic help with our young son, allowing us to take an hour on the beach every morning by ourselves knowing he was being looked after during his morning nap. She also provided evening baby sitting for a small additional charge which we took advantage of one night.

We loved the Island and the people. Our best lunchtime meal was at Petit Anse, a new restaurant opened at a remote spot at the top of the Island. A 1.5hr drive from anywhere but well worth a visit.

In summary 4 Mahogany Run was the perfect place to stay for those looking for a little more space and independence than your usual hotel room. Highly recommended for families.

Many thanks for letting us your beatiful beach house on Mourne Rouge Bay. Everything was exactly as described in your advertisment. The veiw from the garden was stunning & our first job every morning was to make a pot of fresh coffee & sit & watch the Humming Birds feeding on the Hibiscus & Bouganvillia. Mourne Rouge beach was great for lazing around & swimming and the beach bar there served suprisingly good food, we would recommend the Coconut Shrimps. Just 5 minutes walk across the peninsular to spectacular Grand Anse beach where we did most of our swimming & people watching. There is a great little beach bar there about half way along the beach which is very reasonable & popular. We made good use of the bikes, my leg muscles are just about recovered! for every down hill there is an up hill! The beach house was equipped with everything to make our stay so much more comfortable, small things like really nice wine glasses, crockery & coffee percolators also the extensive DVD & book library & the lovely bathrooms all added to the feeling of home from home. The master bedroom was super with quality linen which was changed everytime Adris came to clean for us. The outside sitting room was lovely at night with all the candles lit, the perfect place for a Rum & Coke. A couple of tips. (i) Take a torch with you at night if you are walking as some areas are unlit. (ii) definately get a taxi to The Aquarium for a meal, its location & ambience are really caribbean. (iii) Use the local mini buses, they are cheap & regular, do note though that the standard of driving varies from absolutley careful to hair raising, if you feel that they are driving to fast just get off & wait for the next one. (iv) Take all anti Mozzie precautions like coils, candles, byegone spray for the rooms & DEET for yourselves & they will not be a problem.
In summary, this is an exceptionally well equipped great little house for chilling out & getting some winter sun. It is close enough to walk to shops, bars & restaurants with taxi's & busses readily availble to take you further afield. We had a great time.

A wonderful place for a relaxing stay in this beautiful island. Beautifully presented; good position, close to Morne Rouge and Grand Anse beaches; well equipped, with much needed aircon in bedrooms; delightful deck which we lived on; helpful maid and taxi driver for local info. Perfect for escape from grey England in January - we will certainly be back!
