Lucca Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa on the hills of Lucca, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 sofà-bed Sleeps 6 people

Charming treasure trove within our rustic Tuscany. A villa belonging to 18th century with its perfect proportions and fascinating structure. It has been renovated maintaining the original characteristics and re-furbished with autenthic, original furniture. The elegant style and attention to detail, create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rustic villa is situated within an olive grove, surrounded by the sounds of nature- but nearby, about one hundred meters far, the owners are living. Lucca is a medioeval town, full of history and surrounded by unique, centuries-old walls. The house lies 11 km. from the centre of Lucca and is ideally located to take day trips to Florence -70km., Pisa -20km, Siena and S.Gemigmano -90km. The Lucca region reaches as far as the mediterrean coast in Versilia, where the famous Forte dei Marmi is situated. The elegant beaches and fine sand are renowned within this area. If one day you remain at home, you can enjoy the view of Lucca from the terrace.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you Massimo, for an extrodinary experience in your family home. It was just as the photos showed us and more. The hills offer a magnificent view day and night. The flowering trees and daffodils greated us on the approach up the road to Toninos place. We were so happy in this peaceful and elegantly redesigned farm villa. Daily trips to Lucca a pure joy and the food and quality of wines to choose from a dream come true. We loved it, and will be back next year.

Thank you

Beautiful Location

We have stayed in Tonino's house 3 times over the years and always enjoy coming back. Owner Massimo is very helpful and house and amenities are as listed & clean and well maintained. Great base for day trips to Lucca, Florence, Cinque Terre and many other Tuscan locations. Car necessary.

Charming Rustic Farmhouse Rental 67610ha

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at Massimo's charming farmhouse outside of Lucca for 5 days during our tour of Italy. The owner was kind enough to meet us just off of the main highway and led us right up to the house. The farmhouse was exactly as pictured. We found a welcome gift of a loaf of bread, a bottle of wine, and the owner's own delicious olive oil waiting for us. The house was quaint, very clean and with comfortable beds. The farmhouse looked out over amazing vistas with views right down to the town of Lucca. It was very peaceful and quiet after hectic days of sightseeing and sitting on the patio enjoying a glass of wine was a pleasure surrounded by olive trees, a fig tree, flowering bushes, and grape vines growing overhead with delicious grapes ripe for picking. I would suggest a vehicle would be a necessity for staying at this location.

A lovely place to enjoy the Tuscany area!

Wonderful in every way!

The viila was exactly as we hoped it would be. The view from the terrace takes your breath away and inside, it is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The owner is available to answer questions and is helpful and charming. We enjoyed every minute we were there and wished we never had to leave.

Quiet Tuscan Retreat

  • 5 of 5

What you see is what you get! Quiet, private and 100% Tuscan countryside enjoyment. Massimo made it easy. Beautiful views and great location to many Tuscan sights made our stay outstanding. The cottage was very clean and was well stocked. The patio was such a relaxing treat. We prepared all our meals fresh from the Lucca markets, which was about 15 minutes by car from the cottage. You can be as busy or as relaxed from this spot north of Lucca, as you want. Highly recommend Massimo's cottage and hospitality!!

Perfect Tuscan Villa

  • 5 of 5

We knew we were in good hands from the moment we first communicated with Massimo. Booking was easy and he met us at the McDonalds to lead the way to his beautiful, charming house. Massimo speaks English very well and is helpful with recommendations for restaurants and sight-seeing. The pictures show exactly how lovely and comfortable the house is. The house was in perfect condition for our arrival. The bathrooms are modern and the bed was very comfortable--all with nice linens. We cooked several times at home in the well-equipped kitchen. The view is unbelievable and sitting on the terrace enjoying the view and bird song was paradise. Our dogs were with us and we were lucky to find a wonderful lady to dog-sit (Nadia at fern.oneta@gmail.com) while we enjoyed our day trips to the nearby sites. Once you are settled in at Tonino's House you will be sorry that you did not book a longer stay.

A Place of Beauty and Charm

  • 5 of 5

This little villa was the highlight of my trip to Italy. The twinkling lights of Lucca in the distance at night with the moon hanging in the sky like a globe will always be etched in my mind, along with the waking up to a chorus of birds and an incredible view from every window of the beautiful surrounding mountains and valleys of Tuscany. The listing photos cannot capture fully what this villa offers the traveler. You are transported back in time to a lifestyle of simplicity and charm within its walls and as you relax on the grape vine covered terrace steps away from a lovely olive grove you are surrounded by flowering bushes and plants that add their color and beauty to this whole wonderful experience. Everything is clean and well maintained by its' owner Massimo who is always available to help you with any questions or concerns you might have. A loaf of bread, a container of olive oil and a bottle of wine greets his guests on their arrival. Thank you, Massimo, for all your help in making our stay that much more pleasant. We did not have a phone, but did our communicating with him via our computer. The road leading to and from the villa is very steep, twisty and narrow, and can be quite scary to some drivers. I do suggest that before leaving the states one does rent a GPS from Auto Europe to help find your way to the city and around the countryside and then back to the villa. The walled city of Lucca offers many little shops and cafe's to explore and enjoy, as does the top of the wall which you can walk or bike. This little villa is less then an hour from the sea with lots of beautiful countryside and little towns along the way, but for me it was this villa that gave me a true sense of what the beautiful Tuscany area is all about. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is ready for an inspiring and unique taste of Italy.

The city of Lucca boasts some wonderfully charming urban spaces: the most famous of these is surely the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, built on the ruins of the ancient Roman amphitheatre by the architect Lorenzo Nottolini, a unique architectural marvel. The main artery running through the historic centre is the narrow Via Fillungo, a medieval street lined with the city’s most prestigious shops. Some of Lucca’s other picturesque squares include Piazza San Michele, the city’s historic fulcrum, and Piazza San Martino, the centre of religious life and the site of the renowned Duomo di San Martino. Its immense historic-monumental opulence has prompted a recent proposal to include Lucca’s historic centre – which also comprises a historic playhouse, the Teatro del Giglio - in UNESCO’s world heritage list.
