About Mike & Jean Hare

Ola..and Welcome to our Little Oasis on the Costa Calida coastline overlooking the Mar Menor.

My wife Jean, and I had always wanted a 'Place in the Sun' and 10 years ago an opportunity arose for us to see that wish through.

We immediately were attracted to the area by the convenience of a 2.5 hour flight, the cosiness of landing at a small but very efficient airport at San Javier - and more importantly the apartment, its positioning and the surroundings, it just felt right.

We have tried to make each of our place's a 'home from home' thinking about what would be the perfect place to stay in if we were having a break abroad - and hopefully over the years of us owning them, we would like to think we have done so.

Why Mike & Jean Hare chose La Manga Strip

We bought this 2 years prior to Marinesco 2 on the otherside of the Marina - but all for the same reasons.

There really is not a better feeling than getting up in the morning, sliding open the doors, walking out onto a huge ground floor sun terrace, looking over and just seeing all shapes and sizes of boats and yachts literally passing your lounge window.

It might be a little further to walk over to the marina, than Marinesco 2 which is virtually on the marina, but again what a lovely walk over the 'swing bridge' stopping every now and again to watch the boats pass you by - coming and going from the Med and The Mar Menor.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday again at your apartment.It was lovely and clean and comfortable.With the added bonus of having wi-fi we could keep in touch with our family. We had lots of nice trips and still love the lovely sunsets every evening.Thanks again Len and Barb.

Once again the team have been able to deliver the highest of standards for our guests to enjoy. Be it any seasonal let, long or short term, this has to be one of the best spots, position and well equipped apartments to enjoy the Spanish sun and fabulous views - overlooking Tomas Mastre Marina and the coming and going of boats of all sizes directly passed the huge sun terrace. The popularity of this apartment is underlined by having so few nights/weeks left throughout 2014, including the early part of 2015 - so to all reading this review, start planning your 2015 break now.

Summer in La Manga

Have just returned from a wonderful two weeks in La Manga. We really loved your appartment which offered us everything that we were looking for. The huge patio and furniture is great for any days when you do not want to venture out. We had a hire car and it was a great base for getting out and about to see some of the small villages around the3 Mar Menor and further down the coast in Mazaron and Aguilas.

Thanks to John who responded quickly when we experienced a problem with the lights in the bathroom.

I agree with the previous comment about WIFI so good to hear that this will soon be available.

Just two other suggestions and they are both minor. It would have been useful to have a change of towels for the 2nd week to save washing them and the kettle could do with replacing as it barely pours the water out.

Overall this was a very good experience so thanks to Mike and Jean for allowing us to rent your appartment.

Once again it is nice to read of our guests are not disappointed by the standards, service and value for money they have experienced. Negotiations are well in hand with the broadband suppliers to ensure we have Wifi in and running before the year end. I would also thank Dave T. for pointing out the need to replace the kettle, which John will do immediately and we will most certainly consider the observation re doubling up the issue of towels for guests staying longer than one week. Great Marina Views - Huge Sun Terrace.

Accurate description of property and well maintained. Good customer service from the on site contact John and would recommend to friends and family for future visits. Great view of the marina a enjoy watching the boats coming in and out . The best restaurants were the Chinese at the start of the strip by the Aldi supermarket , restaurant Miramar on the quayside at Cabo de Palos and the Rock and Grill near the Zoco shopping midway up the strip. Also had a trip round to Los Alcazares for another great beach and total English influx ( restaurants , bars etc) which was nice to visit but better to escape back to the strip. Many thanks to Mike and Jean for allowing us the use of the apartment . Myself the wife and most importantly our 16 month old thoroughly enjoyed our two weeks here. Only thing I could say would improve the stay would be wifi but hardly a negative against the property.

Owner's Response: Really pleased that our guests enjoyed their time and experience at the apartment - it is always gratifying to have a response to their time at Miradores and The La Manga Strip. We fell in love with the area over 10 years ago and our mind was made up to purchase the property and share it with others when walking out and looking at the stunning view of the Marina, with all forms of boats & yachts' etc passing by on their way in and out of the Marina to the Med and the Mar Menor. Great to see that families can make full use of the huge sun terrace of this ground floor apartment and have peace of mind children of all ages will be completely safe there. Finally noting the wifi request - we are pleased to say that the apartment will be "complete" by the end of this year (2013) when it is our intention to put wifi in for our guests' use.

Relaxing Holiday in a Great Location

What a great place to spent two relaxing weeks, the apartment was spotless and had all the labour saving equipment. The view from the sun terrace is just stunning we could sit their all day wayching all the boats coming and going,in fact some times we did. The walk to and from the marina was not to bad, we ate their a few times Spanish, Mexican and really enjoyed the Asian meal the best. The trip on the ferry was good so we did it twice, we also found it easy to use the bus to Cabo de Palos and to Cartegena.This is a lovely place to holiday , the beaches are lovely and the views are just stunning. The place is a credit to you Mike and Jean also your team in La Mango who take care of everything.

Great property

Just got back from a week's stay and could not fault anything. The apartment had everything we could possibly need for a family of four adults and an eight month old baby. We didn't have a proper cot mattress on our first night but one quick phone call later and one was delivered - superb service. Everything in the apartment and on the complex was spotless and well maintained. The large terrace was great for sunbathing, dining and letting our granddaugghter crawl about in complete safety. The pool and children's pool are both large and well maintained as is the surrounding grassy sunbathing area. It's just a pity that there isn't easier access to the marina as it's straight across from the apartment but entails a 20 minute walk round. It wasn't a problem for us though as we like to walk and enjoyed looking over the bridge on our walk back at night as you could see huge jellyfish drifting along the channel and large shoals of fish. We visited the marina several times for superb food and beautiful sunsets. There are beautiful beaches on either side of the Strip and just minutes away from the apartment. The water on the Mar Menor side was very warm - the baby loved it. We hired a car from the airport so could get out and explore both all along the Strip and on the mainland. There are some lovely places to visit with beautiful beaches and the information provided by the owners really helped. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone wanting to visit La Managa.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much to our guest who has kindly reviewed their recent stay at this ground floor apartment. With its stunning views overlooking the marina's entrance from the Med, and its huge sun terrace as pointed out kindly by this guest, very safe for families or grand parents visiting with young children. We do point out to all our future guests the marina who wish to book the marina is on the apartments doorstep's but does take 20 minutes to walk to, which in the summer turns into a very welcome walk in the warm sunny atmosphere watching ther boats coming in and out of the area in a greatr procession on the hour as the large swing brindge you cross opens to allow them in and out of the area. One thing I think should be mentioned at this time is that everything provided for use within the apartment is completely inclusive in the prices shown - therefore, our guests had the need for a Cot, High Chair and the apartment also had available a child buggy which was included in the price, as the advertising description states - No Hidden Charges, What you See is What you Pay. Once again many thanks to our guests for their kind words - should anyone wish to find out mnore about this apartment please do call us direct if they wish, we are always pleased to talk directly to future bookers and guests,.

Lovely relaxing break

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in the apartment. It was immaculate and comfortable. This is a first for us as we normally choose a hotel, but we were not disappointed, in fact, we enjoyed the freedom of eating as and when we chose. We did not hire a car and initially we found the walk to the Marina and back a bit far (old and tired legs!) but once we got organised and were able to use the bus which has a stop quite literally on the doorstep we were fine, then we discovered it went all the way along the strip for a set price of 1euro 15cents now that is value! We enjoyed the views from the terrace and the extra space it provided, and wish to thank Mke and Jean (who happened to be in the area at the time we rented the apartment) for the lift to the ferry, it only added to the enjoyment of the day and our visit to the market. Everything we could have wished for was provided in the apartment and we would not hesitate to recommend it to family and friends. Thanks again for a very pleasant break.

P.S. forgot to say there are some really good places to eat close by and a little further in.

Owner's Response: We really appreciate our guests taking the time to write their review, and at the same time we too would like to thank our team in Spain for making sure the apartments are handed over to guests spotless and in pristine condition. It was a pleasure to be there at the time as we took the opportunity to upgrade the TV Satallite system in this and other apartment on the opposite side of the Marina. It does make a great difference having the huge sun terrace overlooking the entrance and views to the Marina as this does act as a great sun bathing area coupled as an incredible outside dining area when wanting to go al fresco, with the Spanish sunset acting as a dazzling back drop. No better place to be for a chilled out Summer Break or a long relaxing stay through the Winter or Spring months. Thank you once again.

Alongside the apartment are two landscaped communal pools for residents usage, and a superb supermarket facility. Beaches are literally a 5 min walk on either side of the apartment.
