Luminosity and a unique sense of tranquillity fill up this space, 35 sq m., 1-bedroom comfortable flat (non smoking) on 3thd and top floor, fully renovated in wood & quality equipment, comprising a living room with kitchen well furnished opening to a dining-room, a bedroom under a roof's window (with a roller shutter), and a bathroom (shower, washing machine), Some windows towards the embracing mountain and to the stars, in a quiet & green environment, in 40 meters to a court of ball basque (fronton), just 700 meters from the train station. Easy parking around

* In a singular 19th century house, inside of the HISTORIACAL HEART of an old village of brave fishermen (and corsairs) basques, in the one of the coastal places which still support its Basque traditional charm. Close to the shops, in some minutes by foot from the beaches and the Thalassotherapy centre, at the foot of the bay of Ciboure & Saint-Jean-de-Luz.

* The BASQUE COUNTRY is ideally located, in the heart of the South-West of France, with lively traditions, customs and gourmet food. The region boasts world famous surf beaches, seaside golf courses, and seawater therapy centres. The Pyrenees are close at hand and offer great hiking in striking landscapes. Spain is just 4 miles away from Ciboure, where you can experience a new culture (Stop along the way to Saint Jacques of Compostelle).

IN CLOSE PROXIMITY:

* The PELOTA Court, LIVELY & FRIENDLY AREA. In 40 meters from the Attic flat there is a ball court, which remains still very similar to the paintings of some decades ago, and where anyone can play freely. Nearby, there is a space for free parking, next to the Town hall. On the lateral, there are the houses which have a pair of pubs of very cheerful and kind ambience (good sandwiches), where they receive communion perfectly the Basque and the French.

The famous filmmaker Orson Welles uses this place and the entry of the Church of Saint Vincent, at 100 meters from here, to show children and also priests playing the ball in some scenes of his documentary about the pelota (the basque ball), in 1955.

* POPULAR MARKET, MUSIC, WELL COMMUNICATED. By the side of this Pelota Court, on Sundays, there is a popular market where are presented the products of the region. In summer, since seven o'clock in the afternoon, concerts of choral groups are carried out with accordion or guitar, in the Pelota court or, very near, in the small square next to the Post, to raise the spirit and to take delight of the harmonies of their voices, with the melodic traditional singings.

Privileged place, in the middle between the two most delightful points to walk and to contemplate the bay in all its full beauty: the pier of Socoa (side Ciboure) and the hill of Sainte-Barbare (side Saint-Jean-de-Luz). Around, shops and good restaurants, with a quick exit to the motorway A-63 (near to the big shopping centre 'Leclerc', in a mile from the attic flat), where by over there Biarritz is in 10 minutes, and Bayonne or San Sebastián in 20 minutes.

* In a few words, an IDEAL BASE to stay some days while it’s explored the region, which benefits from a town centre location, a proximity of the beaches, at a very short walk from the fishing port, the train station, restaurants and free parks.

Appartement proche des plages, de ciboure et St. Jean de luz permettant d'oublier la voiture, si on le souhaite, les cars et trains permettent de se rendre au pays basque français et espagnol.
Location propre et entretenue, conforme au descriptif abritel,
conseils du propriétaire très utiles, restaurant la pergola en front de mer prix très raisonnable (au dessus du casino).
L'ascension de la rhune est un plaisir, pour les moins courageux le train à crémaillère s'en charge,avec un peu de chance pottoks (Cheval basque) et rapaces sont à observer.
Randonnée en bord de mer sur chemin du littoral pour tout les âges.
Dimanche matin petit marche à ciboure au pied du fronton,avec producteurs locaux et le vendredi à St. Jean de luz.
Le calme pour qui le recherche et des activités et attractions,pour les autres sont au rendez vous.
Location à recommander.

proche de toutes les commodités et loisirs. restaurant en front de mer l'arta pour un rapport qualité prix très attractif.

st jean de luz à 7 mns à pied ville très festive et visite touristique lieu de mariage de louis XIV.

randonné pédestre par chemin du littoral très agréable et de niveaux facile

appartement très agréable et calme,très propre et très bien équipé.

excursion en car sur tout le pays basque français et espagnol à des tarifs très abordable.

à recommandé sans hésitation aucune.

* OVER THE ROOFS, here, a different proposal of housing. An attic apartment on top floor of a historical basque house of two centuries ago, in 90 meters from the Port and the church Saint-Vincent -17th century-, with its belfry of oriental type, where it was baptized the musician Maurice 'Bolero' Ravel, who was born just behind it.

Very close from shops & good restaurants with excellent stuff of the sea and country-side. Nearby, in 40 meters, there is a space for free parking, next the Town hall, where on Sundays the farmers & peasants of the country-side show the result of its daily job in a lively, colorist and animated popular market. From here, a walk around the bay is a very real experience.

Some activities around: Fronton (Pelota court) for the ball basque, Golf and Surf.

---GOLF---

* GOLF OF THE NIVELLE, in 2 km from the flat. Opened in 1907, it’s constructed on an ancient career of Ciboure. Its environment gives the beauty of the sea, the view of the port of Saint-Jean-de-Luz and the plenitude of the mountain.

With many varieties of trees around the course, it's not possible to go on without raising eyes and to admire the panorama which gives itself the number 17 to you in the hole, whatever is your card.

It's not easy. It demands a lot of precision in the second blow, greens is often very descending and you will sometimes be in uncomfortable position because of undulating course.

* GOLF OF CHANTACO, in 2’5 miles from the flat. The course of “Chantaco” takes place at the foot of the mountain “La Rhune”, between the villages of Ascain & Saint-Jean-de-Luz, undulating and afforested with variety of the trees which encircle it: maritime pines, pines umbrellas, cedars, firs of Douglas…, as well as several petrol of oaks and big tulip trees of Virginia.

Born in 1928, was founded by René Thion de la Chaume, grandfather of Catherine Lacoste, daughter of the tennis player, president of this club for many years, and the only amateur player to have won US women’s Open. Their lovely pages are stamped with the family Lacoste, between legends and Roaring Twenties. Clark Gable and Charlie Chaplin were surprised there.

It has been classified as 14/20 by Peugeot Golf Guide. 18 approved holes. Length: 5.833 meters. 'Chantaco is a big family, a course which unites around the same passion of very different people', said Catherine Lacoste, who recently left the presidency to her daughter.

--SKI--

There is not ski on the snow. Here they are beaches with their waves to SKI OVER THE SEA. In Biarritz, for example, in 17 km from this Attic, it's possible to find the beach 'Côte des Basques', where the scriptwriter Peter Viertel (husband of the actress Deborah Kerr) had inaugurated in his time championships of SURF, being like that one of few places of Europe visited by The Beach Boys, in their last tour.

It was one of the first places in Europe to attract surfers in the 1950s...Today their waves are still especially appreciated, being an activity widely practiced during the whole year.

Biarritz is the European Surf Capital. It's also a perfect place for a beginner to learn, even during winter. The beaches of Hendaye and Guéthary, around to the south, they are as well very valued.
