Villa Magdalani is on the beautiful island of Kefalonia (Cephalonia). It is a two storey luxury family villa offering a high standard of accommodation in a peaceful setting amongst olive groves within the beautiful Greek village, Lourdas. Villa Magdalani has its own private 9x4m pool. It comprises of 2 double bedrooms (1 on ground floor), 1 twin bedroom, all with luxury ensuite bathroom/shower rooms, fully air-conditioned, large living area with TV, DVD player, PS 2, and feature fireplace , dining area, fully fitted kitchen with hob, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and coffee maker. The living area opens out onto the covered terrace overlooking the patio area including sunloungers and pergola, pool and garden. The patio area has tables and chairs to provide 'al fresco dining', and there's also table tennis for the more energetic! It has a drive for 3 cars and gates.The villa faces south to the ocean and the Island of Zante beyond.

Villa Magdalani is located within the charming greek village of Lourdas. Lourdas is located at the bottom of Mount Ainos, and enjoys an exceptional micro-climate. The natural vegetation consists of cypress trees, olive and pine trees, but you can also see exotic palm and banana trees. Lourdas bay is on the south coast of Kefalonia and is one of the largest bays of the island and is fringed by over 2 miles of sand and pebble beach. The beach is within 500m walking distance down a steep incline through the village past the famous plane tree and natural spring, but the walk up is only for the fittest!. In the village itself there are several restaurants, tavernas and small shops. Argostoli, the capital town 10km away, is a bustling cosmopolitan town with a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Many an evening has been spent in one of the excellent restaurants surrounding the large square watching the exciting entertainment. Here you will find a range of boutiques and designer shops.

Villa Magdalani is not under the flight path so there is no plane or traffic noise.

Kefalonia: We can advise guests of which airlines to fly to Kefalonia and suggest web sites to try.Car hire is available at the airport or a taxi transfer for approximately 30 euros. There are several car hire companies in the village of Lourdas and within easy walking distance. Kefalonia with a population of 32,000, is the largest of the Ionian Islands, the capital being Argostoli. The Island has 254km of coastline enjoying a typically Mediterranean climate. The mountainous nature of the Island's terrain, with its many flowing springs, creates strange geological phenomena. Beautiful rocky shores and sandy beaches surround the Island on all sides. Its mild climate with sunshine most days of the year, allow visitors to enjoy the sea and its natural beauties. Its a wonderful place for walkers and hikers. Villa Magdalani is Ideally situated for exploring the Island, with some beautiful spots to discover and lots more information about the Island and suggested places to visit can be given on request

Superb holiday location

This was our first time to Cephalonia and have fallen in love with the island. The villa is located on a beautiful setting among the olive trees and enjoys a fabulous view across Lourdas bay and beyond to Zakynthos. The villa is 'stunning' and is so well equipped it even had a 'frappe' maker. The villa has everything that you will need for a relaxing holiday. The pool and the table tennis, keep the children (and adults!) entertained. We stayed during the really hot summer months and found the 'dappled' shad area to be very welcome indeed. We enjoyed one of the best family holidays we have had in years. We will definitely return soon.

Great family holiday

For several years we have rented villas in Menorca. This was our first time in Kephalonia (children now 18, 16 and 10) and we all had a great time. Villa Magdalani is the best we have ever stayed in. Comfortable, clean, very well equipped, private, with a lovely pool and good views.
There were a number of really good beaches in the area and many good and reasonably priced restaurants in Lourdas. We stayed for two weeks and ended up eating out almost every night either in Lourdas or in the capital, Agistolli ,which is just a 20 minute drive away and which is bustling in the evening. Further afield Myrtos Beach and Sami are well worth a visit.
I recommend the property and we will go back.

Lovely villa, beautiful setting

We enjoyed a week's holiday at Villa Magdalani at the end of July.
The villa was exactly as described on the website - it is beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained.
I was in regular contact with the owners prior to our visit, and we also saw them a couple of times while we were there, as they were staying nearby. They made us feel very welcome and were keen to do anything they could to help us with advice on places to visit etc. There was also lots of information about the island in the house, plus other visitors recommendations - which were useful.
We would definitely recommend this property to our friends.
We visited most of the island and particularly liked Sami
(where Captain Corelli's mandolin was filmed) and Fiscardo - a lively port, which was good for people-watching and souvenir shopping.
